Financials (Joel C) Annual Seminar Planning (Pam/Joel/Rich) Financials Update Joel provided a summary of financials through September 1, 2017 Annual dues letters were sent to each LS President and Treasurer in September Dues are payable by March 2018; no response from LS reps to date Group discussed potential national AIHA contribution to CIHC; agreement was reached to inquire with AIHA 2017 Annual Professional Development Seminar Update on Logistics to Date (Joel C) Audio/Visual contract is signed Hotel has confirmed that the 80% room-nights commitment has been met Board dinner will be held at Scala s Bistro (Sir Francis Drake Hotel) on Sunday, December 3 at 6:00PM Sponsor/Exhibitor Updates (Rich) Rich reported that 16 exhibitors (all confirmed and paid), 2 sponsors (Nanozen and ESIS) 1 additional sponsor pending payment 3 social sponsors (3M, Eco-Rental Solutions, and Health Science Associates) REHS Credit/Sponsorship (Nola) Nola reported on REHS sponsorship progress UCLA-LOSH will be the AA (sponsor) for REHS in 2017 Nola reviewed the list of UCLA-LOSH requirements for sponsorship; there were no concerns regarding ability of CIHC to meet requirements Student intern shall be allowed to attend the PDS gratis, but will pay for meals (Board agreed) Board agreed to move forward with UCLA-LOSH sponsorship for REHS REHS certification maintenance daily sign-in will be coordinated by Gloria at the PDS Final approval documentation is needed from UCLA- LOSH; CIHC needs to send final PDS documents Program Update (Pam) Program agenda is final and posted to the event Registration Update (Pam) 128 registered attendees as of 10/26 Joel C to provide update on response at next meeting Pam to contact Mark Ames (National AIHA) regarding potential contribution to CIHC Pam will provide a list of attendees for Board dinner by Nov 3. Joel C will provide a meal cost to Nola to pass to UCLA for student intern attendance Rich will ensure the UCLA-LOSH logo is posted to the Pam to provide speaker bios and final program agenda to Nola to pass to UCLA Gloria will coordinate REHS daily sign-in at the PDS October 26, 2017-2-

Proposed CIHC Bill Status (Cathy) Young Worker Safety Update (Rich) Proposed CIHC Bill Cathy reported that 3 of the CIHC bills of interest made it to the Governor s desk and were vetoed (AB 402, AB 978, AB 247) Governor s message was essentially the same for all three these are regulatory issues, legislation not needed Rich wrote an article for the October newsletter to update activities. The word is spreading to Alabama thanks to another Nektar employee. The TX legislation previously passed takes effect for 2017-18 school year; Rich read the TX legislation verbatim (short and to the point) as an example of what we should aim for in CA. Next meeting of the partnership is TBD. Chris L-D (on behalf of CIHC and the partnership facilitated scheduling a meeting with Marti Fischer (CA Chamber) meeting scheduled for Nov. 20 th ; Chris L-D and Cathy will attend on behalf of CIHC, and Diane Bush on behalf of the partnership. Cathy to follow up with potential authors regarding authorship and potential attendance at December seminar October 26, 2017-3-

Regulatory Update (All) RCS in Construction (Ed) No recent meetings; compliance deadline has passed, regulation is now in effect Mold Remediation Bill (Howard) Not worth the time right now to draft language for a bill; no urgency Adult Film Industry Advisory Committee Update (Joel B) No changes Heat Illness Prevention Indoors Advisory Committee (Joel C, Joel B) Comments provided to Cal/OSHA re: draft reg language on June 30th; no changes Housekeeping in the Hotel Industry (Ed, Nola) Nothing to report Lead in Construction and Gen Industry (Howard) Cal/OSHA has committed to proposed regs by March 2018, but no drafts yet for review HEAC in 2017 (Howard) HEAC in 2017 (Howard) Next meeting on Dec. 12 th in Oakland at 10:00; Howard will attend on behalf of CIHC; PELs under consideration are Al, H 2 S, Mn, Peracetic acid, 2-butoxyethyl acetate and 2- Butoxyethanol, and MIBK at this 5 th meeting of the revamped HEAC Cal/OSHA Advisory Committee in 2017 (Joel C) Cal/OSHA Advisory Committee (Joel C) previous meeting (8/3) report provided with Sept. Board meeting; next meeting is on Nov. 2nd; Joel C will attend on behalf of CIHC Board members to continue to watch movement and report back Howard will attend HEAC meeting on behalf of CIHC Joel C will attend Cal/OSHA Advisory Committee meeting on behalf of CIHC October 26, 2017-4-

New business (All) Adjournment Cal/OSHA Standards Board Information was sent out with the meeting agenda March 2018 Occupational Health Summit in Sac (Pam) March 14, 2017 Building and Trades Council conference room in Sacramento Program update and discuss registration fee and when to open Board agreed to same fee as last year ($200 for the event, no early bird) and to open registration on Jan. 15 th Technical program is set with 4 speakers in the morning (thank you to Roxanne) and keynote speaker (thank you to Pam) over lunch Senator Pan and Assemblymember Cooley are confirmed (thank you to Cathy) as our legislative speakers for the afternoon Sponsor opportunities at $350/each (includes attendee and table display) space can accommodate 3 or 4 Suggestion made to engage the SVS to solicit sponsors.
