UNIVERSITY OF MUMBAI No. UG/ 71 of 2013-14 CIRCULAR:- A reference is invited to the Ordinances, Regulations and Syllabi relating to the Diploma in Social Work vide this office Circular No.UG/59 of 2009 dated 21 st February, 2009 and the Principals of the affiliated colleges in Arts and the Principal of the college of Social Work are hereby informed that the recommendation made by the Faculty of Arts at its meeting held on 30 th May, 2013 has been accepted by the Academic Council at its meeting held on 7 th June, 2013 vide item No. 4.10 and subsequently approved by the Management Council at its meeting held on 20 th June, 2013, 21 st June, 2013 & 11 th July, 2013 vide item No. 15 and that in accordance therewith, in exercise of the powers conferred upon the Management Council under Section 54 (1) and 55 (1) of the Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994, amended Ordinance 5506 and amended Regulation 5097 and syllabus for Diploma Course in Social Work is revised, which is available on the University s web site (www.mu.ac.in) and that the same has been brought into force with effect from the academic year 2013-14. Name of the Course: Diploma in Social Work 1) Existing: O. 5506 Eligibility: Every candidate for the Diploma in Social Work must have the minimum qualification of XIIth std. from the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education or from any other Board, recognized by the University of Mumbai. Amended: O. 5506. Eligibility: Every candidate for the Diploma in Social Work must have the minimum qualification of XIIth std. from the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education or from any other Board, recognized by the University of Mumbai. OR The students having higher degree than XIIth std. from University of Mumbai or from any other University, recognized by the University of Mumbai also are eligible for this course. OR Students completed XIIth standard or higher education from distance Education University also are eligible for the course.
