FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 29 January 2016 AVAILABILITY OF THE SOUTH AFRICAN REVENUE SERVICES (SARS) AND THE SOUTH AFRICAN POLICE SERVICES (SAPS) DURING THE RECEIPTING OF APPLICATION FORMS FOR THE FISHING RIGHTS ALLOCATION PROCESS 2015/16 ( FRAP 2015/16 ) The and Fisheries ( Department ) has embarked on a distribution process through-out four (4) Coastal and Inland Provinces to hand-out application forms and sector specific policies on following sectors: Abalone, Hake Inshore Trawl, Horse Mackerel, Kwazulu-Natal Sardine Beach-Seine, Large Pelagics (Tuna and Swordfish Longline), Netfish, Patagonian Toothfish, Seaweed, West Coast Rock Lobster (Nearshore) and West Coast Rock Lobster (Offshore) fishing sectors as well as Fish Processing Establishment sector. The Department will now commence with FRAP 2015/16 receipting process as from 01 until 12. During receipting process, prospective applicants wishing to get assistance from South African Revenue Services (SARS) for Tax related issues, including receiving assistance for certification of documents from South African Police Service (SAPS), may visit FRAP 2015/16 receipting centres. Unfortunately, not all receipting centres will have SARS officials. In where SARS has not been able to deploy officials during receipting process, applicants may have nearest s or call SARS Call Centre at 0800-007-277 (toll-free) for assistance. Please note SARS officials may not be able to process new requests for Tax Clearance Certificates (TCC) at se venues. In such cases, SARS will only prepare paperwork and process new requests for TCC s back at ir s. It is advisable that applicants prepare ir tax documents well in advance as some company tax issues may be complex to be resolved within limited period of receipting.
