President s Message Wow! Summer is almost over?! Can t we have just a few more months? I hope that your orchids fared well this summer. There was a lack of rain for most of this season. I found that I had to water more often than last year. I will have some orchids to show at the next meeting. There are quite a few spikes showing right now for me. I hope to see some of your beautiful plants at the September 9 th meeting. Fred Clarke of Sunset Valley Orchids will be speaking about Catasetum. It should be a great talk. Let us look forward to the rest of the year. Our major focus for the year is membership. The board wants to keep you engaged as our current members. I know that the Programs committee is working hard to bring in interesting speakers and programs. There are some other interesting ideas that our new board members suggested at our last board meeting. I would like to hear your ideas about programming that you would like to see this year and upcoming years. I hope you see you all at this next meeting! As always, very happy growing! Membership Report I sent out an email renewal message last month. I will be sending the same form for those who do not receive the newsletter in email. When you attend our next meeting, please check with me to see if you need to renew. Please notice that the membership form is attached to this newsletter. Thanks, Kevin (Randy Long will be taking over soon) Fredclarkeara After Dark Black Cherry Kevin 2
