Opening Session Notes 284
Session One: armaments Proposals on Armaments Austria-Hungary Austria-Hungary shouldn t have to pay a significant amount of money for armaments because we did not spend a significant amount of money on it in the first place. Also, everyone should destroy their gas weapons and they may not be produced or used ever after signing of the treaty. France All Central Powers must give the Allied Powers 80% of their armaments, half their navy and destroy all of their gas weapons. Gas weapons cannot be produced or used anywhere in the world after the signing of the treaty. Germany Tank production shall exceed no more than 6,000 tanks per country and the amount of aircrafts shall exceed no more than 20,000 per country. If a country does produce more than maximum amount, they shall have land taken from them. Great Britain During war there will be no limits in production of aircrafts, tanks, battleships, and armaments. During war the use of Gas Weapons should be limited due to the rapid increase of casualties and deaths. If one country fails to follow the limit on gas weapons then they are subject to be invaded and confiscated of gas weapons. However, after the war some limits will be set in place to help ensure the safety and to maintain order. India India should receive some compensation for the resources that we provided for the Allies. Even though we did not contribute significantly to the war effort, we did send many resources and goods to the allies, necessitating compensation. Turkey The military of all countries involved in the war cannot invade other countries, unless another country breaks a boundary. Russia/Soviet Union Depending on the opposing country s involvement against Russia in World War One, it will give up a proportional amount of weapons and provisions as compensation for Russia s loss. United States The United States believes that there should be a worldwide decrease of weaponry, and each country should have an equal amount of arms. Also, gas weapons should not be used in war. If any country possesses these weapons, other countries have the right to invade them and confiscate these weapons. 285

Session Two: Costs and Loses Proposals on Costs and Loses Austria-Hungary Austria-Hungary deserves compensation for all the deaths and destruction of arms and any other equipment. The compensation will take care of weaponry and to provide for family s still at home. Each county deserves compensation for their loses and the ones with most destruction on their land will receive more to be used solely on what was destroyed. France Germany must pay 27 billion dollars to France, give France a portion of their land in the Rhineland to make into a colony, and release all Allied Prisoners of War. France s German Prisoners of War will be placed to work on the French Rhineland colony. Germany Countries with casualties higher than a million shall receive compensation from countries that have less casualties. No country should have to pay more than the damage it caused to a certain country. Germanys expertise in building will help with repairs of buildings and roads. Great Britain During World War One the financial status of Great Britain plummeted. Great Britain lost one fourth of its economical wealth. Due to this fact and to ensure the economical wealth of other countries we propose that during war the are no territorial contentions when countries are allies, and if a country is over spending or struggling to maintain the costs of war, their allied countries should aid them by India We believe that India should receive financial compensation, partial or complete, for its efforts in the paying of the British debts with money stemming from the Central powers. Both the Central powers will punished for their involvement in the war and we will be compensated for our aid. Turkey Every country should pay for their own country and no more. All the boundaries return to their original state before the war began. Russia/Soviet Union The countries that were most industrialized during the world war will pay the undeveloped countries enough money to industrialize, so that the undeveloped country s main industry becomes manufacturing. The undeveloped countries must pay back 75% of the money that is given in thirty years to the providing country. The other 25% of the money the undeveloped countries may keep as compensation. United States The United States believes that everyone should make reparations. But the central powers, especially Germany should pay a bit more than everyone else, since they had less money to pay in damages and had less deaths. 287
Session Two: Costs and Loses Notes 288
Session Three: Ethnicity Proposals on Ethnicity Austria-Hungary Change the borders of Europe, that way people of the same culture would be near each other and would have each other and their wouldn t be as much conflict in Austria Hungary. France Germany must give the Rhineland to the allies. As long as Germany adheres to the treaty, we will gradually give the Rhinelands back. However, if Germany breaks the treaty, we will occupy the Rhinelands. Germany Country borders should roughly stay the same as there are many ethnic groups in Germany and if each group were to split up into their own country, Germany would become much smaller And well as other countries with multiple ethnic groups. However, Germany should share its border with Austria-Hungary as they consider each other Germanic people. Great Britain We would want to split the borders between the allied countries and the central powers (turkey, Germany, Austria Hungary) because hopefully it will keep the opposing sides away from each other. India India will firstly receive independence due to its vital efforts in the war against the Central powers as well as it paying off the majority of the debt that the British incurred during the war. Secondly, Eastern Asia will be split up by language families, not by the colonial leaders and should also gain independence, to quell internal conflict within these countries to ensure that The Great War does not occur again. Countries such as Tibet, Mongolia and Thailand will be formed, not to be a part of a larger conglomerate. It is strongly suggested, but not necessary, that Russia be split up into West and East Russia, since East Russia encompasses a number of independent language and cultural families that West Russia, mainly Russian, does not have. Turkey We want the ethnicity in our empire to be diverse and culturally blended because it will be good for the people. We do not have a problem with people practicing their native language and religion. The amount of different cultures and people is what makes our Empire unique. Russia/Soviet Union The map of Europe should be redrawn to fit the language and cultural groups living on the continent. 1. Austria-Hungary should be split into several countries. 2. Ireland should gain independence from Great Britain. 3. Prussia s land should be split up among other countries. United States The United States believes that a possible solution would be dividing Austria-Hungary into 2 separate areas. Since Austria-Hungary has many ethnic and language groups, it might cause conflict within the country. Splitting Austria-Hungary up, may prevent future disputes. 289
