In addition, periodic contributions are made to leadership PACs of particular members of Congress. Leadership PACs are set up by members of Congress, and funds are distributed as member-to-member contributions. These are especially important for individuals in party leadership positions because they provide members with a vehicle to financially support candidates with whom they are philosophically aligned.
