PURPOSE: SB-09-2016 Presented by Senator Kaylee Franklin On this Twenty-Sixth of January, 2016 to represent the Student Body by supporting its many diverse student clubs and organizations in monetary distributions. WHEREAS: it is the duty of a Senator, as expressed in our bylaws, to serve as a representative of the student body throughout the university and the community. WHEREAS: it is a function Student Government Association to allocate monetary funds to registered and sanctioned student organizations throughout the college campus. THEREFORE: BE IT ENACTED BY THE SENATE OF THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED, THE FOLLOWING: SECTION I: the Student Government Association College of Charleston allocate up to the amount of 300 dollars to the student organization, Asian Student Association for the purpose of Lunar New Year SECTION II: the total amount of money to be allocated will be distributed in the following manner. The distribution of those funds will be at the discretion Treasurer, Allocations Committee and Business Manager. 1. $300: tickets

a. 20 tickets @ $15 each TOTAL: $300 SECTION III: THIS BILL SHALL TAKE EFFECT (UPON PASSAGE) BY THE STUDENT SENATE SITTING IN GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND THE SIGNATURE OF THE STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT. x

PURPOSE: SB-10-2016 Presented by Chief of Staff Jasmine Gil On this Twenty-Sixth of January, 2016 to represent the Student Body by supporting its many diverse student clubs and organizations in monetary distributions. WHEREAS: it is the duty of a Senator, as expressed in our bylaws, to serve as a representative of the student body throughout the university and the community. PURPOSE: SB-11--2016 Presented by Deputy Chief of Staff Kate Glass On this Twenty-Sixth Day of January, 2016 To appoint Michaela Rule to the following position: Sophomore Senator Student Government Association. WHEREAS: According to Bylaw 1100.002, In the event a vacancy occurs within the Senate because of resignation or failure to petition for office, the vacancy shall be filled by individuals who have completed the requirements petition and release waiver. The candidate must be nominated by a Senator class in which the vacancy occurs and shall be approved by a 2/3 vote Senate. The Student Government Association President shall immediately swear in these new Senators. WHEREAS: Michaela Rule has completed the requirements petition and release waiver. THEREFORE: BE IT ENACTED BY THE SENATE OF THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED, THE FOLLOWING: SECTION I: Michaela Rule shall be appointed to the position of Sophomore Senator for the 2015-2016 Academic Year. SECTION II: THIS BILL SHALL TAKE EFFECT (UPON PASSAGE) BY THE STUDENT SENATE SITING IN GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND THE SIGNATURE OF THE STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT. x

WHEREAS: According to Bylaw 1100.002, In the event a vacancy occurs within the Senate because of resignation or failure to petition for office, the vacancy shall be filled by individuals who have completed the requirements petition and release waiver. The candidate must be nominated by a Senator class in which the vacancy occurs and shall be approved by a 2/3 vote Senate. The Student Government Association President shall immediately swear in these new Senators. WHEREAS: Ridgeland Welch has completed the requirements petition and release waiver. WHEREAS: According to Bylaw 1100.002, In the event a vacancy occurs within the Senate because of resignation or failure to petition for office, the vacancy shall be filled by individuals who have completed the requirements petition and release waiver. The candidate must be nominated by a Senator class in which the vacancy occurs and shall be approved by a 2/3 vote Senate. SB-16-2016 Presented by Chief of Staff Jasmine Gil On this Twenty-Sixth Day of January, 2016 PURPOSE: To appoint Olivia Oliver to the position of Junior Senator. WHEREAS: there is currently a vacancy in the Junior Class. WHEREAS: Section 1100.002 bylaws states that, In the event a vacancy occurs within the Senate because of resignation or failure to petition for office, the vacancy shall be filled by individuals who have completed the requirements petition and release wavier. The candidate must be nominated by a Senator class in which the vacancy occurs and shall be approved by 2/3 vote Senate. THEREFORE: BE IT ENACTED BY THE SENATE OF THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED, THE FOLLOWING: SECTION I: Olivia Oliver shall be appointed to the position of Junior Senator with all the duties and responsibilities position. SECTION IV: THIS BILL SHALL TAKE EFFECT (UPON PASSAGE) BY THE STUDENT SENATE SITING IN GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND THE SIGNATURE OF THE STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT. x

SB-17-2016 Presented by Senator Presley Leopard On this Twenty-Sixth Day of January, 2016 Purpose: Whereas: To allow the student organization Model UN to enter their 28-day waiting period. the student organization Model UN has met all requirements set forth by the Compass. Whereas: the Student Organization Review Board has met and determined that the student organization Model UN is deserving of entering the 28-day waiting period before becoming a Registered organization. Therefore: Section I: Section II: BE IT ENACTED BY THE SENATE OF THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED, THE FOLLOWING Be it enacted that the Student Government Association approves the student organization Model UN entering the 28 day period set forth by the Compass. THIS BILL SHALL TAKE EFFECT (UPON PASSAGE) BY THE STUDENT SENATE SITTING IN GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND THE SIGNATURE OF THE STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT. x
