Annex IV Population density by camps in KTP Using GIS technology, polygons of the camps were established. The GPS coordinates of each family were then mapped into the polygons, in order to determine the total number of families and individuals within each camp. Based on the high quality drone imagery and field mapping conducted by Site Planning unit, the total usable area and non-usable area was calculated jointly by UNHCR with IOM. While the usable area refers to areas populated by refugees, the non-usable areas refers to flood and landslide prone areas. Note: The recommended minimum surface area is 45 m 2 per person when planning a refugee camp (including kitchen / vegetable gardening space). However the actual surface area per person (excluding garden space) should not be less than 30 m 2 per person.
