MEET THE CANDIDATES GENERAL ASSEMBLY Madrid 24-28 MAY Hosted BY RED EQUO JOVEN

kim van sparrentak CO-SPOKESPERSON My name is Kim, I am 27 years old and I have been involved in FYEG for many years. I have been part of the climate change working group, attended several alter-cop seminars and was a campaign-team member for the European election campaign in 2014. Being part of this organisation has given me many skills, intercultural learnings and beautiful memories. I am very grateful for what FYEG has taught me in the past years and I am excited to give back all I have learned. If I am granted the opportunity to be spokesperson for the coming year, I want to share the positive message and vibe that surrounds FYEG. The message of hope for a better future for young people from all walks of life, countries and backgrounds The message of a Greener brighter future that unites us all. I am looking forward to seeing you all in Madrid and discuss the next year for our federation.

FABIAN WAGNER CO-SPOKESPERSON Fabian is a Global Justice activist passionate about Refugees, Human Rights and global justice. In FYEG heʼs been active in the working groups and the Ecosprinter. Besides that he worked for think tanks and international organisations in Africa, Latin America and South Asia. Currently heʼs fighting for land rights for indigenous peoples around the world. Whenever he hasnʼt been online for more than a couple of hours heʼs probably working, studying or traveling somewhere in the jungle :) His home base is Mainz in Germany.

Djalel Boukerdenna CO-SPOKESPERSON Djalel is a 20-year-old Algerian-born proud Majorcan. He started off in green political activism with a focus on Animal Rights. He now works as Communications Officer for the Global Greens. He's been active in FYEG's working groups and has worked with our partner organisations. He believes that we, the European Young Greens, are responsible for making sure that Europe is ready to transition to a 100% renewable energy model, a vegan agricultural model, and a AI-based economy.

frank de jong TREASURER I am Frank, 27 years old and finishing my study in political science. Ever since starting my studies I have been active in Green politics and last two years I had the opportunity to become involved in FYEG. Meeting all of you, hearing your experiences and stories and being in your company has been truly heartwarming and inspiring. This motivated me to apply for the position of treasurer for the coming EC. FYEG provides us with a unique opportunity to share and learn from each other, where all voices can be heard and we strengthen our organizations and our movement in Europe together. I wish to contribute to strengthening FYEG as an organization and enabling it to even better unlock the potential of all its MO's and activists. I would love to contribute to this potential and hope I can count on your support to do so.

Eka Mghebrishvili EC member My name is Ekaterine (Eka), I'm 28 years old from Tbilisi, Georgia. I'm a member of Georgian Young Greens for about 7 years. I have studied sociology as my bachelor and then did my MA in Applied social psychology. I am also freelance researcher and mostly am engaged in researches about agriculture, rural population, gender, social movements etc. My interests are broader, such as social movements and self-organizing groups, also about mental health, normativity and sexuality. The Green Politics and ideology has a major place in my heart and actions. I believe in Global Justice and the green agenda as the way to achieve it.

Paula Espinoza EC Member I started my environmental activism in Greenpeace Valencia in 2006. In 2011, when I was studying Political Science and I've decided to engage myself in political activism. Nowadays, I'm a member of Red Equo Joven which is the young green organisation of the Spanish Greens and also part of the Valencian Green Party (VerdsEquo). In 2014, I was living in Brussels and it was this moment when I started to participate in FYEG activities; since then I have decided not to quit it! The areas that I like the most are the ones related to climate change, migration and feminism. In my free time, I love to collect stamps from all over Europe!

Predrag Momčilović ec member My name is Predrag Momčilović. I am red - green activist from Serbia. currently working at the secretariat of Serbian Green Youth, am PhD student at Geography Faculty (socio-urban geography) and journalist. Politically I am ecosocialist especially interested in urban issues. I participated in several FYEG projects and got involved in the Left Summit of Serbia. Besides politics I am interested in sports, urban art, board games, photography... Favorite animal: a sloth.

Tariq Khan ec member My name is Tariq Khan. I am currently busy with my third year of a Natural Sciences degree, going down the environmental route. I currently volunteer as the International Officer of the Young Greens of England and Wales, and have been to quite a few FYEG events, and most recently as a prep team member. This has created within me the experience, and knowledge of how things are done, and a deeper desire to serve to the best of my ability. I am passionate about, and if elected will promote; Equality and Diversity, Climate Science, European Collaboration, and Mental Health. I am also passionate about empowering myself and others to be efficient activists and politicians, in the NOW, not just the future.

tuomo salonen ec member My name is Tuomo Salonen, and I m a linguist and a minority activist from Finland. I joined the Greens because we are the only movement out there truly commited to progressive politics, and now I would like to take my experience to benefit FYEG. The political landscape in Europe is shifting fast, now is the time for Greens to step up and take the place left behind by the crumbling old parties. I would like to work in FYEG to strengthen the European Green network in order to do just that. My other passions include minority rights, and I m a Karelian myself. Being part of a minority whose rights are not in any way recognized by the state, I have learned that if you want to change the world, you have a lot of fighting and struggle waiting for you. In my free time I enjoy reading, theatre, rock climbing, hiking and trekking.

zuzana pavelková ec member My name is Zuzana Pavelková, I am a member of Czech Young Greens. I have joined Mladí zelení in early 2015 After having worked as an intern on the European elections campaign for the Czech Green Party. As I kept moving around between different European countries in the past several years, I was always more interested in international and European politics. In 2016, I had the chance to co-organize the FYEG General Assembly in Prague. In 2017 I was one of the organizers of the Global Young Greens congress in Liverpool. These experiences as well as a number of successfully coordinated smaller-scale events and actions make me not only happy and proud of what we can achieve as a movement but they also give me the confidence that I have the necessary know-how, dedication and long-term stamina for efficient coordination of a transnational network such as FYEG. If elected, I can help sharpen FYEG s political profile in the following thematic areas: (1) asylum and migration, (2) fight against far right from the CEE experience, and (3) Human rights aspects of climate change.
