As for International Officers reports, President Alvarez again supplied an update on the proceedings as it pertains to Bessie Small. We have already received $50,000.00 from our insurance policy which is a small part of the over $250,000.00 that Bessie Small procured. Our BK counsel has sent a letter to the DA in Bangor, Maine informing them of our displeasure with the amount of time that has passed, nearly 2 years, since these criminal charges were placed. Within the letter, it was requested that the case move forward as quickly as possible without any additional continuances. DJ assured us that he will keep us informed with all updates. c. Our Annual Blue Knights International Convention is scheduled for July 15th through the 20th and is being hosted by Georgia XVI at Stone Mountain, GA. At the Board of Governors Meeting on Monday morning, July 16th, the election of BOG officers for the next two (2) years will occur. There are 13 candidates who are running for the four (4) BOG positions. Others proposed and approved dealt with increasing the amount that Host chapter(s) of an International Convention may keep, and also proposals dealing with both the Silver and Bronze Tier Structures.
