Deviate from the Regular Order of business to hear concerns and requests of the public. CONCERNS AND REQUESTS: Judith Johnson 206 Monongahela Avenue Glassport, PA 15045 Judith Johnson asked about the bank robbery and the St. Cecilia s church demolition. Michael Warman 402 Ohio Avenue, Glassport Boro Was present representing the group of kids for a bike/bmx/skateboard track and is trying to acquire property to establish a location to ride. David Kowalski, Council, stated that he has a flyer with information on a meeting that he has scheduled for Saturday, January 28, 2012, at the Borough Building, at 12:30 p.m., for adults and children who have an interest in getting kids off of the street and involved with some type of recreational activity. REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES: Parks and Recreation Committee: David Kowalski, Chair/Council Playground and Basketball Courts have been closed down. We are planning ahead for the future. I am having a meeting with any parents and grandparents for the teenagers of this Borough. I made 100 fliers and this meeting is to get the kids off the streets and to keep them out of trouble. Mansfield Bridge Rehabilitation Low bidder on the project is J B Fay and a pre-construction meeting will be held on January 5, 2012, in Room 505 of the County Office Building at 1:30 p.m. to go over construction details. The notice to proceed will be January 10, 2012, and physical work will begin early in March.
NEW BUSINESS: Steve Volpe SMV Associates Month of December, 2011 Report 52 hrs. @ $30 per hr. - $1,560.00. Need Motion to pay the Building Inspector. Motion: Bradley seconded by Crncic To approve the payment to SMV Associates for the Month of December, 2011, in the amount of $1,560.00. Tax Anticipation Loan documents have been signed and sealed and delivered to First Commonwealth Bank. We have been approved for the loan in the amount of $400,000 with an interest rate of 1.90%. The 39 th Annual Spring Conference will be held March 29 to April 1, 2012 at Seven Springs Mountain Resort. Eugene Skerkoski, Vice President, said we will be sending one individual to save money.
