CULMINATING ACTIVITY DECADE PRESENTATION DESCRIPTION: In this activity students will work in groups of up to four, and focus on ONE DECADE IN CANADIAN HISTORY covered during the course. The group will be responsible for developing knowledge of significant issues, events, figures, forces, and values that reflect the Canadian Identity of their assigned decade. Working within their groups, students will select the key events and happenings that capture the feelings and images of the "defining moments" from their specific time period. Students will then research them further, and produce a presentation and a report. See the following pages for a more complete task description. The collected and original produced materials will be presented in front of the class as the group will display their graphic pieces, and be asked to read some of their written work. All students are to be involved in this presentation to their peers. They are individually responsible for their specific contributions to the display. Assessment will be based on summative teacher evaluation, both in a group setting, and as individuals. Make sure you use the Evaluation Rubric included as a guideline to the requirements of this project. Included in this package is a list of topics, key events, and key figures for each specific decade. (You will find it posted to Google Classroom). Some class time will be given for this assignment. Students are expected to take full advantage of this time.
