Please add not more than 2 page CV, photocopy of student ID card, Letter from Dean of Students or Dean of Graduate School testifying your studentship of the said university and a motivational letter for the chosen portfolio. The Electoral Commissioner or his assigns should receive completed applications before the deadline of submission. Presidential candidates should submit additional form with details of their Running Mate. The form must be accompanied with two passport-size photos fixed at the right top corner. Form must be submitted with proof of deposit to GRASAG National Account. Nomination Fees: The presidential Nomination goes for Ghc 1,200 while other positions are Ghc 1,000. PART I GENERAL APPLICATION OF REGULATION SECTION 1 n furtherance of Article 20(4) & (7) of the GRASAG Constitution 2018, the electoral commission hereby by a constitutional instrument herein after referred to as GRASAG EXECUTIVE ELECTIONS REGULATION G-C.I 17 presents the following additional rules to govern the 2018/2019 GRASAG year elections. PART II ELIGIBILITY FOR ELECTION SECTION 2 1) Subject to Article 25 of the GRASAG Constitution all Aspirants contesting for any position of NEC shall be student of a member institution and in good standing. This notwithstanding PhD student shall be eligible for re-election for a second term but not more. 2) A person is not qualified to be a candidate for any elected office of GRASAG if he has been adjudged or otherwise declared I. Bankrupt under any law in force in Ghana and has not been discharged; II. to be of unsound mind or is detained as a criminal lunatic under any law in force in Ghana; or III. has been found by the report of a commission or a committee of inquiry to be incompetent to hold public office or is a person in respect of whom a commission or committee of inquiry has found that while being a public officer he acquired assets unlawfully, or defrauded an association, or misused or abused his office, or willfully acted in a manner prejudicial to the interest of the association and the findings have not been set aside on appeal or judicial review. 3) The qualifications and disqualifications specified in section 1 and 2 of this Law shall apply to a candidate for the office of Vice-President. 4) Subject to Article 24 of the GRASAG Constitution, any member of GRASAG shall be eligible to contest election only when such a person has been nominated by Seven (7) local GRASAG executives of which one (1) shall be from each member Institution

I. A member wishing to contest shall fill and submit a nomination form with all the following attached documents and submitted within the stipulated period. i. 2 page CV, ii. iii. iv. photocopy of student ID card Letter from Dean of Students or Dean of Graduate School testifying your studentship of the said university Motivational Letter for chosen portfolio v. Softcopy of a portrait picture vi. vii. viii. ix. Presidential candidates should submit additional form with details of their Running Mate. Both forms must be accompanied with two-passport size photo fixed at the right top corner. Original and 2 photocopies of pay-in-slip. 5 additional photocopies of the nomination forms. PART III VOTING AT ELECTIONS AND REFERENDA. SECTION 3 1) Voting at any election or referendum shall be by secret ballot and by electronic voting systems. 2) A candidate may appoint two polling agents one to the polling center and one to the strong room where only polling agents shall be privy to proceedings in the strong room for the purpose of detecting impersonation and multiple voting and certifying that the poll was conducted in accordance with the laws and regulations governing the conduct of elections. 3) Polling agents present at the strong-room shall be denied communication for the period of voting. 4) Every candidate shall fill, sign and submit to the returning officer in charge of the polling center the letters of appointment stating the name, student reference number and institution of each polling agent to the electoral commission at least 24 hours before elections which each of the nominee is to counter-sign. 5) Immediately after the close of the poll, the presiding officer shall, in the presence of the candidates or their representatives and their polling agents, proceed to count the ballot by the electronic voting system and record the votes cast in favour of each candidate. 6) The presiding officer, the candidates or their representatives, or their agents and the polling agents if any, shall then sign a declaration stating i. the number of votes cast in favour of each candidate ii. The presiding officer shall, there and then, announce the results of the voting at that polling station before communicating them to the returning officer.

PART IV IDENTIFICATION OF VOTERS AND VOTING PROCEDURE. SECTION 4 1) A presiding officer may, before delivering a ballot paper to a person applying to vote at the election, require the person to produce his or her voter identification card to be generated by the electronic registration system whose name, identification number, passport picture and other particulars as appeared in the system. 2) Subject to (1) supra, a delegate shall be required to present a valid student Identification Card or any other means of identification issued by his school at the general congress registration center to be registered onto the electronic system. 3) Every voter desiring to vote shall present himself or herself at the voting center and the presiding officer or a polling assistant after satisfying himself that the voter is registered and has not already voted, and that any other means of identification determined by the Commission in the possession of the voter is valid, shall proceed to cast his or her ballot. 4) A mark shall be placed in the copy of the register against the name of the voter to indicate that the person has voted. 5) The voter shall vote without undue delay, and shall leave the polling center as soon as he or she has finished voting. 6) Only the presiding officer or any authorized polling office, on the application or request of a voter shall direct or assist the voter through the process without influencing the voter's choice. PART V ELECTION OF CANDIDATES. SECTION 5 1) Subject to the provisions of the GRASAG Constitution, where at the close of nominations and on the day before a public election i. Only one candidate stands nominated, there shall be election and the candidate must obtain a 50 plus (1) to be declared elected. ii. Where at the close of nominations, but before the election, only one candidate stood nominate and dies, there shall be reopening of nomination for that category alone and election for same shall be postponed. 2) There shall be a voter's register to be generated by the electronic registration system at least 24 hours to the voting day. The voter's register shall then be given to all candidates thereafter.

PART VI CHALLENGE OF ELECTION PROCESS SECTION 6 1. Any person may challenge any election process by making a formal complaint to the electoral commission stating the reason(s) for the challenge. 2. The electoral commissioner shall within 24 hours address the complaint. 3. Any person dissatisfied with the resolution of the electoral commission on any of the process so challenged may file an application accordance with Article 61 of the GRASAG constitution for a redress.
