MOJ UPDATE ON ACTIVITIES MAY SEPTEMBER 2017 Wide public debate on amendments to the Constitution in the part relating to the judiciary In May 2017 the MoJ launched a consultative process with civil society. Public invitation for the participation in a consultative process was published on 19 May 2017 CSOs invited to submit proposals for amending the Constitution in the part related to the judiciary Analysis of received comments/suggestions from the experts and CSOs and preparation of the proposal Two roundtables were organized (21 July and 7 September 2017) in Belgrade with CSOs where the proposals received were considered more closely. The organization of the third roundtable in Kragujevac is in progress.

RAFU MOJ ACCESS TO JUSTICE MAY SEPTEMBER 2017 Draft Law on Free Legal Aid Continuous negotiations with the Bar and CSOs in progress Proposal for amendments to the Article 67 of the Constitution Round tables on FLA providers across Serbia starting from September presentation, identification of topics and relevant local stakeholders as partners in implementation Developed new Draft Law on Personal Data Protection in line with the EU acquis Support provided in drafting the law; Draft submitted to an international expert for opinion Final analysis of the alignment in preparation, working meetings scheduled for 18 22 September

RAFU MOJ UPDATE ON TRAINING MAY SEPTEMBER 2017 Bilateral/multilateral consultative meetings Roma Action Plan, amendments to the laws on national minorities & implementation of the AP for National Minorities Several Workshops in the field of finances and budgeting methodology implementation focused on budgeting strategic documents Staff training at the MOJ on reporting on UN mechanisms Staff training at OHMR on monitoring the AP Exercise of the Rights of National Minorities Planned trainings/workshops On-the-job training support to relevant departments at the MOJ in the process of implementation of the AP23 Staff training at MoJ on access to justice initiatives (legislative, new competences) Staff training at MoJ on legislative changes arising from the acquis alignment in different fields

MDTF SUPPORT TO JUDICIAL STAKEHOLDERS MAY SEPTEMBER 2017 Structure Support Program (IT and Office Equipment delivered to the SPC, Commercial Appellate Court in Belgrade, Commercial Court in Belgrade, Subotica, Uzice and Kragujevac) - to motivate courts to improve their efficiency and productivity in processing cases - based on the assessment of employees on the identification of equipment that will improve their court performance CERTIFICATION COURSES IN VARIOUS IT FIELDS- 209 employees from the SCC, HJC, the Court of Appeal in Belgrade, the Administrative Court and the Commercial Court in Belgrade passed exams for: A. ECDL Start B. ECDL Advanced C. Administering Windows Server D. Querying Microsoft SQL Server E. Developing Microsoft SQL Server Databases - improvement of business skills and efficiency, thus providing equal career opportunities to everyone in terms of European integration

MDTF SUPPORT TO JUDICIAL STAKEHOLDERS CONTD. Second round of CERTIFICATION COURSES IN VARIOUS ISO FIELDS (ISO27001, ISO20000, ISO22301, ISO31000, ISO21500) for 62 employees from Appellate Public Prosecutor s Offices in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Nis; Higher Public Prosecutors Office in Nis; First, Second and Third Basic Public Prosecutor s Office in Belgrade; Basic Public Prosecutors Office in Nis and Leskovac; SPC, HJC, MOJ MULTI-SITE SYSTEM FOR THE SERBIA PROSECUTOR S OFFICE WEBSITES (process in the tender evaluation phase): - Web design and templates production for basic, higher and appellate prosecutor s office - System ready, up and running, trainings completed, user manual delivered, support and remote assistance procedure delivered)

MDTF SUPPORT TO JUDICIAL STAKEHOLDERS PLANNED ACTIVITIES Certification courses in various IT-related subjects (ECDL base, Microsoft Word. Administering Windows Server 2012, Querying Microsoft SQL Server) for 749 participants from SCC, HJC, SPC, MOJ and other courts (Appellate courts, Higher Courts, Basic Courts, Misdemeanor Court of Appeal, Misdemeanor Courts, Commercial Court of Appeal, Commercial Courts) Trainings in AVP and SAPS for statisticians, registry offices/administrative/it staff and secretaries of courts (Appellate courts, Higher Courts, Basic Courts, Misdemeanor Court of Appeal, Misdemeanor Courts, Commercial Court of Appeal, Commercial Courts) including SCC and HJC for ~ 600 participants Shopping of hardware and IT equipment for functioning of Prosecutor s Office websites (in accordance with specs that are to be prepared by Serbia Prosecutors Office Websites Service Provider) Procurement of HR software and software for budget planning for SPC
