ORDINANCE NO. 2570 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ISSAQUAH, WASHINGTON UPDATING WATER METER INSTALLATION FEES AND FIRE HYDRAT METER RENTAL DEPOSITS; ADDING A NEW SECTION 3.65.040(A)(1l) TO THE ISSAQUAH MUNICIPAL CODE IMPOSING CHARGES ON THOSE PERSONS WHO CAUSE DAMAGE AND/OR DESTRUCTION OF CITY-OWNED PROPERTY; ADDING A NEW SUBSECTION 3.65.040(A)(10)(f) TO ESTABLISH CHARGES FOR RENTAL EQUIPMENT; CHARGING EQUIPMENT RENTAL RATES TO ALL WORK PERFORMED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT BY DELETING (3.65.040(D)(3); AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, The City of Issaquah installs water meters to record and appropriately bil water use; and WHEREAS, The City of Issaquah collects a fee for installing water meters the IMC; and according to the fee schedule in Section 3.65.040(B)(2) of WHEREAS, The City of Issaquah wishes to amend the City-installed water installation fees to reflect the increased cost of the water meter and associated installation hardware as follows, WHEREAS, the Public Works Department is called upon to repair or replace City-owned property that has been negligently or intentionally damaged or destroyed; and NOW, THEREFORE, ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the City seeks to recover its costs against those persons responsible; THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ISSAQUAH, WASHINGTON, DO Section 1. A new Section 3.65.040(A)(1l) is hereby added to the Issaquah Municipal Code to read as follows:

3.65.040 Public Works Department fees. The following fees shall be imposed for projects and permits regulated by, and work performed by, the Public Works Department. A. General Section 2. Water Meter Installation Fees. Section 3.65.040(B)(2), entitled "Water Meter Installation" is hereby amended in its entirety to read as follows: 2. Water Meter Installation. a. Developer Installed. $40.00 plan review per meter. $145.00 inspection fee per meter. b. 11. A fee shall be imposed against the organization, individual or individuals responsible for damage or destruction of City-owned property. The fee shall be equal to the time and materials estimated to be expended by the City in investigating the cause of damage, repair and/or replacement of such property including a 15% administrative overhead charge. Time and materials also includes any consultant or third-party charges incurred in the repair or replacement of such City property or in the collection of such fee. D. Street Division Fees. 3.
