Name Class Period AP Government THE US CONSTITUTION STUDY GUIDE Welcome to AP GoPo! There is nothing more important to doing well in AP GoPo than knowing the US Constitution. I know, isn t that a crazy idea? Our Constitution is the basis of our form of government and is the one of the world s best known documents. If you have a working understanding of the Constitution, you are already at least halfway to getting a 5. Beginning the class with the understanding that you all have read and studied the Constitution will allow us to hit the ground running and move on to other things. The Task: 1. Read the Constitution. Where? It s pretty much a google search away. Here s one from the National Archives: http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/constitution_transcript.html You can also download a Constitution app. If are really into it, there is a printed version on Amazon for $1 https://www.amazon.com/pocket-constitution-text-bicentennial-commission/dp/0880801441 2. Complete the Study guide carefully. Value: 30 Points You will use this study guide twice. The first is to prepare for a quiz on the Constitution which will be administered on the second day of school. I will collect the study guide at that time. The second is to use as a review for the AP Exam in early May 3. Take a quiz on the Constitution. Value: 30 Points. As mentioned in #2, you will take a quiz on the Constitution which will be administered on the second day of class.
