KUAZ-AM/FM PROGRAM SCHEDULE: SPRING 2011 MONDAY - FRIDAY 6 a.m. MORNING EDITION This popular program presents comprehensive news and commentary from National Public Radio. Local host David Close provides traffic, weather and community information throughout the program. The KUAZ newsroom updates state and local news. The program includes Marketplace Morning Report, two eight-minute segments that air at 6:51 and 8:51 a.m. 8:30 a.m. ARIZONA SPOTLIGHT (FRIDAYS ONLY) This half-hour KUAZ public affairs program airs Fridays at 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. It provides in-depth stories about a wide variety of local subjects including the arts, education, transportation, economic development, diversity, the environment, neighborhoods and politics. Mark McLemore hosts and Jim Blackwood produces the program. 9 a.m. THE DIANE REHM SHOW For more than 25 years, The Diane Rehm Show has offered listeners thoughtful and lively conversations on an array of topics with many of the most distinguished people of our times. 11:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. TALK OF THE NATION Talk of the Nation provides a springboard for listeners and experts to exchange ideas about major news events and the world around us. Journalist Neal Conan hosts Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, NPR science correspondent Ira Flatow takes over to host Talk of the Nation Science Friday. 1 p.m. FRESH AIR Terry Gross conducts in-depth interviews with prominent cultural and entertainment figures, as well as distinguished experts on current affairs and news. 2 p.m. THE WORLD Lisa Mullins hosts this program of international news for the American audience. A multinational team from around the world provides in-depth features, hardhitting commentaries and interviews found nowhere else in U.S. news coverage. 3 p.m. MARKETPLACE Marketplace illuminates the ways national and international business and finance relate to listeners daily lives. Fridays 7 p.m. JAZZSET Every week, Grammy and Tony-award winner Dee Dee Bridgewater presents jazz performances from across the globe. JazzSet s recordings capture the legends, today s top bands and promising new talent. SATURDAYS 5 a.m. TECH NATION Host Moira Gunn interviews scientists, Internet entrepreneurs, astronauts, media critics, sci-fi novelists, politicians and others from technology-related walks of life. 6 a.m. WEEKEND EDITION Scott Simon hosts this popular program of news and feature stories broadcast from National Public Radio in Washington, D.C. 10 a.m. CAR TALK Brothers Tom and Ray Magliozzi of Boston respond to automotive questions with a blend of engineering education, mechanical expertise and quick-witted humor. 11 a.m. WAIT, WAIT DON T TELL ME! Listeners test their knowledge against the best and brightest in the news and entertainment worlds while trying to figure out what s real news and what s made up. Peter Sagal hosts and Carl Kasell serves as official judge and scorekeeper. 12 p.m. WHAD YA KNOW? Hosted by Michael Feldman, this comedy/quiz show invites callers and audience members to participate in zany quizzes, games and skits. 2 p.m. STUDIO 360 FROM PRI AND WNYC Peabody Award-winning Studio 360 from PRI and WNYC is public radio s smart and surprising guide to what s happening in pop culture and the arts.
