Public Opinion in Indonesia 2013 National Election Survey December 2013

Key Findings The vast majority of Indonesians profess a high likelihood of participation in the 2014 elections, but also report limited levels of information on the elections The majority of Indonesians have positive evaluations of electoral bodies, and are generally satisfied with the work of KPU Voter education efforts should leverage high levels of trust in the KPU, with television and local officials being used as leading conduits for information on electoral matters High levels of importance are attached to the inclusion of women and persons with disabilities in the electoral process

Detailed Methodology Sample size: 1,890 respondents representing the voting-age population in Indonesia (17 years+/married). Margin of error: ±2.3 % within a 95% confidence interval. Sample area coverage: 33 provinces in Indonesia; observations were allocated proportionately at the national level with an over-sample of observations in Aceh, Maluku, Papua, and West Papua. Fieldwork dates: December 17 30, 2013 Survey firm: Lembaga Survei Indonesia (LSI) conducts fieldwork and data processing for the survey. Weights: Data was weighted by age, region and gender to bring the realized sample in line with target population parameters in order to be nationally representative of the adult (17+) population of Indonesia.
