PURPOSE OF REPORT Administration has submitted an application to redistrict Everitt Park, located in the Erin Ridge North neighbourhood, from the Private and Public Service (PS) District to the Public Park (P) District by amending Schedule A of the Land Use Bylaw 9/005. COUNCIL DIRECTION In 014, Council passed the following motion for the Eldorado school/park site: (C79-014) If the consolidation of the 3 existing land parcels occurs and subdivision of the new school site is completed that Administration bring back LUB redistricting for the remaining remnant parcel to be districted back to P-Park. File #: PH-16-010, Version: 1 Redistricting the remainder portion of the Everitt School/Park site back to Park would be consistent with the direction given for the Eldorado School/Park site, as well as Council discussions regarding school site allocation. BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION Everitt Park is located adjacent to the Lois E. Hole Public Elementary School in the Erin Ridge North neighbourhood. The civic address is 110MR Everitt Drive North and the legal description is Lot 30MR, Block 35, Plan 1 3691. Access to Everitt Park is from Everitt Drive North, Enchanted Way North, and Eternity Crescent. Please see the attachments entitled Location Map and Redistricting Map indicating the site proposed for redistricting. The size of the school/park site was originally.5 hectares ± (6.17 acres). The subdivision to accommodate the development of the school resulted in the following parcels being created: Everitt Park: 1.05 hectares ± (.59 acres) Lois E. Hole School: 1.45 hectares ± (3.58 acres) This school/park site was originally redistricted as Public and Private Service (PS) through Bylaw 18/011 on May 4, 011. The proposed redistricting is in keeping with the long-term provisions for school sites discussed in 014. The Public and Private Service (PS) District permits both a school and park, however, the redistricting will change the park portion to Public Park (P), which permits parks but not schools. The proposed redistricting is also consistent with the Erin Ridge North Area Structure Plan, which designates the subject area as School/Park. STAKEHOLDER COMMUNICATIONS OR ENGAGEMENT The proposed redistricting application was circulated to internal and external stakeholders, as well as to businesses and property owners located within a 100 metre radius of Everitt Park. No objections were received from internal and external stakeholders, or businesses and property owners. IMPLICATIONS OF RECOMMENDATION(S) Financial: None at this time.
