1 ASIC APPLICATION GUIDANCE MATERIAL FOR QANTAS GROUP GROUND STAFF AND OFF AIRPORT EMPLOYEES BASED IN AUSTRALIA *For the purpose of this document, the definition of off airport employees refers to any employee or contractor who is not based at an airport location (i.e. may be based at a corporate location) and who has gained approval through the correct channels to hold an ASIC to perform their inherit role. 1. 2 AUSTRALIAN BASED GROUND STAFF 1. Ground Staff Australian citizens Category A 1 of the below documents must be provided. Australian birth certificate or birth extract must be the original document from Births/ Deaths and Marriages ( no commemorative certificates) Australian citizenship certificate original certificate issued by the Australian government Australian citizenship by decent certificate - Original extract issued by the Australian government Category B 1 of the below documents must be provided. Document must be current and valid and contain a photo and signature of the ASIC applicant Passport may be Australian or foreign passport Drivers licence may be Australian or a foreign drivers licence/learners permit. Australian proof of age card issued by an Australian Commonwealth, State or Territory government Embassy/ Consulate photo identity card Australian adult firearms or shooters licence must be valid and display the holders photo and signature Australian working with vulnerable people card Australian industry licence such as a taxi-cab licence Australian security licence or crowd control licence Australian police identification card issued by Commonwealth, State or Territory government Category C 1 of the below documents must be provided. Must be current and valid. *Category B document that has NOT already been used may be used as a Category C document. Document must be current and valid and contain a photo and signature of the ASIC applicant. Medicare card Australian issued Marriage certificate - official marriage certificate, civil partnership certificate, recognised details certificate or divorce order. No commemorative certificates. ASIC or MSIC valid Aviation Security Identification Card or Maritime Security Identification Card Government issued identity document - government employee identity card, military identification card or defence discharge papers Evidence of employment - Payslip/PAYG payment summary less than 6 months old or employment contract with company details e.g. ABN. Evidence of Indigenous heritage - reference or confirmation of identity from an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander organisation Australian tertiary student ID card - student ID card issued by an Australian TAFE, university or registered training organisation Australian government benefits - evidence of a right to an Australian government benefit, pension or health care card Academic transcript or trade certificate must be from a reputable Australian Tertiary organisation OR a foreign university. Trade certificate must have been issued by an Australian registered training organisation or recognised industry body
3 Category D Document Only required if one of the category A, B or C documents does NOT contain a residential address. Document must be less than 6 months old. Australian electoral enrolment - proof of electoral enrolment in Australia Australian motor vehicle registration confirmation of registration Australian rate or valuation notice council Rate notices or land valuation notice. Utility account or bank statement - utility accounts (gas, water, electricity, telephone, internet) or bank account statement Mortgage papers or tenancy agreement lease agreement must be valid Other evidence of residential address - evidence of current residential address that is less than 6 months old, and is from a reputable organisation All employees who have not lived in Australian within the last 12 months at the time of application MUST supply a police certificate from their country of residence. Ground Staff New Zealand citizens Category A 1 of the below documents must be provided. Australian Visa Australian visa label, visa grant notice, VEVO evidence or visa evidencing card. Must be presented along with foreign passport (may be expired). Emails sent from VEVO directly to the applicant cannot be accepted TIP It is recommended that NZ citizens contact the Australian Department of Home affairs on 131 881 (option 1) to obtain a VEVO password where you will then have access to your Australian Visa to use as a Cat A document Category B 1 of the below documents must be provided. Document must be current and valid and contain a photo and signature of the ASIC applicant Passport may be Australian or foreign passport Drivers licence may be Australian or a foreign drivers licence/learners permit. Must presented with the supporting foreign passport. TIP to check and download your Visa details, please contact the Australian Department of Home Affairs on 131 881 (option 1) to obtain a VEVO password where you will then have access to your Australian Visa or immigration details to use as a Cat A document Australian protection visa must be presented with the supporting Australian Convention Travel Document or CTD. (A CTD is issued to a refugee to travel in the absence of being able to obtain a passport from the country of their nationality). Category B 1 of the below documents must be provided. Document must be current and valid and contain a photo and signature of the ASIC applicant Passport may be Australian or foreign passport Drivers licence may be Australian or a foreign drivers licence/learners permit.
