OFFICIAL CALL Mass Meeting of the Louisa County Republican Committee of the Republican Party of Virginia As Chairman and pursuant to the Plan of Organization for the Republican Party of Virginia and as recommended and directed by the Committee, I, Graven W. Craig, do hereby issue this Call for a Mass Meeting to be held at the Louisa County Public Library, 881 Davis Highway, Mineral, VA 23093, starting at 6:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, March 24, 2016 for the following purposes: 1. Selecting a unit chair, first Vice Chairman, second Vice Chairman, treasurer, secretary, General Counsel and members to the Louisa County Unit Committee. Also to elect members to the Louisa County Republican Committee for two (2) years, beginning on March 24, 2016 2. Electing up to (290) delegates and an equal number of alternate Delegates to the Republican Party of Virginia Seventh Congressional District convention to be held at (a site to be determined and will be updated on this Call as soon as available) on Saturday, May 21, 2016, for the following purposes: A. Nominate a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives; B. Electing a District Chairman for the Seventh Congressional District Republican Committee; B. Electing three (3) members to the Republican State Central Committee; C. Electing three (3) Delegates and three (3) Alternate Delegates to the 2016 Republican National Convention to be held at the Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, Ohio, or its alternate site, from July 18-21, 2016; and D. Nominate one (1) candidate for Presidential Elector to serve in the 2016 Electoral College 3. Electing up to (290) delegates and an equal number of alternate delegates to the Republican Party Virginia state convention to be held on Friday and Saturday, April 29 and 30th, 2016 at James Madison University convocation Center, 895 University Blvd., Harrisonburg, VA for the following purposes: A. Electing thirteen (13) at-large Delegates and thirteen (13) at-large alternate Delegates to the Republican National Convention to be held on July 18-21, 2016 at the Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, Ohio, or its alternate site B Nominating two (2) Electors at-large to be voted for in the presidential election of November 8, 2016; C. Electing a State Chairman; and D. Electing one (1) National Committeeman and one (1) National Committeewoman. E. Further details on the Virginia State Convention can be found at www.virginia.gop Qualifications for participation All legal and qualified voters of Louisa County, under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, regardless of race, religion, national origin, or sex, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who, if requested, express an open meeting either orally or in writing as may be

required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the upcoming election, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings. Party canvases, conventions or primaries encompassing the respective election districts. In addition to the foregoing, to be in accord with the principles of the Republican Party in the last five years, a single exception to the above shall be approved for a voter who renounces affiliation with any other party in writing, and who expresses, in writing, that he or she is in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and intends, at the time of the writing to support the nominees of the Republican Party in the future. A voter that utilizes the foregoing exception as identified in this paragraph and participates in the nomination process of another political party, other than the Republican Party, shall not have the benefit of this exception thereafter. Filing requirements Delegates: Candidates for election as delegates for both the May 21 Seventh District Convention and the April 29/30 State Convention may pre-file without attending the mass meeting. Pre-file forms must be received by mail or in person by 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2016. Postmarks do not govern. For access to the pre-file form please visit: www.virginia.gop, or contact Graven W. Craig to receive a form via electronic mail (email). Candidates for office in Louisa Any person who desires to seek election as Chairman, First Vice-Chairman, Second Vicechairman, Treasurer, Secretary or General Counsel (must be a lawyer) for the Louisa County Republican Committee, must file a written notice to that effect. The written declaration must be received by 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2016. Postmarks do not govern. Please deliver to current chairman, Graven W. Craig, or his designee, Louisa County Republican Committee, 202 West Main St., P.O. Box 68, Louisa, VA, 23093. Electronic mail (Emails) will not be accepted. No nominations shall be accepted from the floor at the Mass Meeting. If, at the mass meeting only one legally filed candidate has applied for any office to be filled, that candidate shall be deemed to have been elected to that office. Each candidate may file for one office only. All candidates will be elected by a plurality of votes. If no person files from office, the nominating committee will act to fill that office. Filing Fees No fee is required of any voter in order to participate in this Mass Meeting. A voluntary fee of $35.00 is requested for filing to be a Delegate to the State Republican Convention. A voluntary fee of $35.00 is requested for those individuals who only wish to vote in the elections of a nominee for House of Representatives, National Convention Delegates and alternates, and Presidential Elector at the Seventh District Convention. For those individuals who wish to be elected as a Delegate to the Seventh District Convention to also vote for Seventh District Chair and the three (3) members for State Central Committee, the $35.00 fee is required. For those wishing to be elected as a two-year member of the Louisa County Republican Committee, a $50.00 filing fee is required (which shall be credited as that member s two years dues payment). All required fees MUST be paid at the time of pre-filing. Checks should be made payable to the Louisa County Republican Committee.
