Venue and Date: The Nineteenth Inter-American Travel Congress will be held in San Salvador, El Salvador, on September 29 and 30, 2011. The inaugural session of the will take place on the morning of Thursday, September 29, 2011, at 8:30 a.m.; the working sessions will start immediately after the inaugural session. A complete program of events and detailed information will be available at registration. The Congress will be held in the Bristol 1 and 2 rooms of the Hilton Princess Hotel. 2. When making your reservation, kindly indicate that you will be attending the Nineteenth Inter-American Travel Congress. Each participant is responsible for settling their hotel bill at the end of the meeting. Kindly note that rates may differ for additional nights on dates other than those established for the Congress. The cost of telephone calls and other services must be defrayed by each guest directly. All hotel reservations, without exception, must be confirmed by September 2, 2011. After that date, unconfirmed reservations will be canceled and the National Coordination Office will not be responsible for the reservation made at the assigned hotel. The cancellation of reservations after those dates will be subject to the provisions and practices in effect in the international hotel industry. 4. Air Transportation: It is recommended that delegates and observers make their round-trip flight reservations, either directly with airlines or through travel agencies, as soon as possible. International flights to and from El Salvador arrive and depart from the El Salvador International Airport (code SAL). Delegations shall pay their own air fares to El Salvador. 4

The airlines Avianca and Taca are offering a special rate for participants at the Nineteenth Inter- American Travel Congress consisting of a 25% discount on all published rates for all routes in the Americas. Entry and Departure Requirements: Delegates shall be responsible for complying with the visa requirements established by the Government of El Salvador. Those participants who require a visa to enter El Salvador should contact the nearest Salvadorian embassy or consulate in their respective countries. The Immigration Bureau (Dirección General de Migración) requires all tourists to have one of the following documents (In both cases a passport is also required.): 1. A tourist visa issued by a Salvadorian Embassy, which will be valid until one year before the passport expiration date. Visas are free of charge for United States citizens; other nationalities may have to pay a fee. 2. A tourism card for visitors who need a consular visa, which is available for US$10 and may be purchased at the point of entry to the country. It is usually issued for 90 days. Eligible countries: Canada, Mexico, Belize, Taiwan, Singapore, Croatia, Solomon Islands, Latvia, Madagascar, Rumania, Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Brazil, Brunei, Bulgaria, South Korea, Marshall Islands, Kuwait, Macedonia, St. Lucia, and Vanuatu. Vaccination against Yellow Fever: Given that El Salvador has currently eradicated yellow fever, the Ministry of Health ruled that, as of April 7, 2008, anyone entering Salvadorian territory must have been vaccinated against yellow fever and is required to show the corresponding international certificate of vaccination (ICV) against yellow fever. This applies to: All persons traveling to El Salvador from: - Bolivia - Brazil - Colombia - Ecuador - Paraguay - Peru - Venezuela The ICV must be an original (not a copy). Vaccination must be performed at least 10 days prior to the date of travel. Persons who fail to comply with this requirement will not be allowed to enter the country and risk being returned to their country of origin. Exceptions: Children under 12 months of age, pregnant women, and persons for whom, because of their state of health, vaccination against yellow fever is contraindicated, as certified by an authorized medical or health sector official. 7. Transportation from the Airport to the Hotel: The government of host country will provide a transportation service from the airport to the hotel for all delegates, starting Wednesday, September 28, and from the hotel to the airport, on Saturday, October 1. This transportation service will be provided for delegates arriving or departing on those specific dates. In order to access the rooms where the Congress proceedings will take place, all participants must have an ID badge which they can collect when they register on-site. At that time they will also be given the official event documents. Currency: The Salvadorian currency is the US Dollar. Major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and American Express) are accepted in most commercial establishments. ATM machines are available 24 hours a day at the hotel where the Congress will be held. 13. Climate: Temperatures in San Salvador in September typically range between 25º and 31º C (65º to 85º F). 14. Local Time: In September the local time in El Salvador is two hours behind that of Washington D.C. 15. Electric Current: The power supply in El Salvador is 110 volts. 16. Medical Assistance: Immediate medical care services will be available at the Congress venue and an ambulance will be standing by for emergencies. 7
