Mohonasen Central School District Minutes of Meeting of the Board of Education Monday, August 22, 2016, Pinewood Intermediate School Library Call to Order Roll Call Executive Session The Board meeting was called to order by the President, Mr. Piccirillo, at 5:30 PM. Mr. Piccirillo requested those present to stand and join in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Board Members Present: Lisa Gaglioti, Chad McFarland, Robert Piccirillo, Patrick Ryan, and Pamela Young (Mrs. Gaglioti arrived at approximately 5:48 PM) Administrators Present: Dr. Kathleen Spring, Chris Ruberti, and Lisa Cutting MOTION made by Mrs. Gaglioti, seconded by Mr. Ryan, that an executive session be convened for the purpose of discussion of particular personnel matters. The motion was passed unanimously, five members present and voting. MOTION made by Ms. Young, seconded by Mr. McFarland, that the executive session be adjourned at 6:05 PM. Return to Public Session Roll Call Communications Superintendent Communications Board of Education The public session was called to order by the President, Mr. Piccirillo, at 6:10 PM. Mr. Piccirillo requested those present to stand and join in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Board Members Present: Lisa Gaglioti, Chad McFarland, Robert Piccirillo, Patrick Ryan, and Pamela Young Administrators Present: Dr. Kathleen Spring, Chris Ruberti, Lisa Cutting, Matthew Stein, Jennifer Russo Others in Attendance: 2 Other attendees Dr. Spring introduced Mrs. Cutting who discussed the updated Code of Conduct and answered questions. Discussions and suggestions were addressed and recommendations will be provided. Mr. Ruberti reported on Fund Balance and Reserve Activity. He explained how expenses are funded from different accounts and the reserve activities and fund balances. Mr. Piccirillo mentioned that the tentative ribbon cutting ceremony date will be held on September 29 th at 4:30 PM for the CAT Building. Public Privilege of the Floor New Business - Instructional Special Education Recommendations and Student Placements No Comments were made. Request for Approval and Arrangement of Committee on Special Education Recommendations and Student Placements and Committee on Pre-School Special Education MOTION made by Mrs. Gaglioti, seconded by Mr. Ryan, that the Board of Education approve and arrange for the recommendations of the Committee on Special

After a brief discussion regarding manifestation hearings, the motion was passed unanimously, five members present and voting. Approval of Marching Band & Varsity Color Guard trip in the Fall, 2016 and Spring 2017 Approval for the Girls and Boys Cross-Country Team to participate in the Six Flags Wild Safari Cross-Country Invitational in the Fall New Business Business/Personnel Approval of Contract with Northern Rivers Family Services for the Summer and 2016-17 School Year Approval of Contract with Northeast Parent and Child Society for the Summer Session and 2016-17 School Year Approval of the Amended 2016-2017 School year calendar Approval of Establishment of Memorial Scholarship Approval of School Request Approval of Mohonasen Marching Band and Varsity Color Guard to Participate in Competitions in the Fall, 2016 and Spring, 2017 MOTION made by Ms. Young, seconded by Mrs. Gaglioti, that the Board of Education approve the request for the Mohonasen Marching Band and Color Guard to participate in the above field trips. Request Approval for the Girl s and Boys Cross-Country Team to Participate in the Six Flags Wild Safari Cross-Country Invitational in the Fall, 2016 MOTION made by Mr. McFarland, seconded by Ms. Young, that the Board of Education approve the request for the Girls and Boys Cross-country team to participate in the Six Flags Wild Safari Cross-Country Invitational in Jackson, New Jersey on September 23-24, 2016. Request Approval of Contract with Northern Rivers Family Services for the Summer Session and the 2016-2017 School Year MOTION made by Mr. Ryan, seconded by Mr. McFarland, that the Board of Education approves a contract with Northern Rivers Family Services (Parsons Child and Family Center) at a cost per student of $6,531.00 for the Summer 2016 Session for a total cost of $19,593.00 and $39,186.00 per student for the 2016-2017 school year for a total cost of $117,558.00. Request Approval of Contract with Northeast Parent and Child Society for the Summer Session and the 2016-2017 School Year. MOTION made by Mr. Ryan, seconded by Mr. McFarland, that the Board of Education approve a contract with Northeast Child Society to provide services to a district resident handicapped student at a cost of $36,842.00 for the school session and $6,140.00 for the summer session and $1,400.00 to the Dormitory Authority for a 10-month period for the 2016-2017 school year. Request Approval of the Amended 2016-2017 School Year Calendar Education approve the amended 2016-2017 School Year Calendar. Request for Approval of the Establishment of the Robert L. Anderson Memorial Scholarship MOTION made by Mrs. Gaglioti, seconded by Ms. Young, that the Board of Education approves the establishment of the Robert L. Anderson Memorial Scholarship.
