A. Approve the following request/s for homebound education from: 1. Student E, effective November 21, 2016. B. Approve the following trip request/s for professional development from: 1. Approve the adoption and purchase of the following textbook: Publisher Textbook Course Grade(s) Cost Cengage JAVA Software Solutions(2015) AP Computer Science 11-12 (25) $1,192.28 Rationale: We are introducing an AP Computer Science course in the spring. The course will replace Advanced Computer Programming. The text selected for the course is an approved text by the College Board, JAVA Software Solutions (2015). This text will allow students to learn the foundation of programming techniques. This text also includes MyProgrammingLab for Java Software Solutions. MyProgrammingLab is an online homework, tutorial, and assessment program. It helps students better prepare for class, quizzes, and exams. The text also provides teachers with a set of tools for gauging individual and class progress. Replaces: No current text (supplemental materials) H. Approve the 2017-2018 General School Calendar, as previously presented to the Board, and which becomes part of this resolution though reference. I. Approve the establishment of the following student activity/ies: 1. Film Club at the Nazareth Area High School. There will be no cost to the District for the establishment of this club. 2. Blue Eagle Archers at the Nazareth Area Middle School. There will be no cost to the District for the establishment of this club. 3. Multicultural Club at the Nazareth Area High School. There will be no cost to the District for the establishment of this club. J. Authorize the Administration to proceed with the purchase of Promethean ActivPanels and ActivPanel stands in an amount not to exceed $23,994.00. The equipment will be provided through the COSTARS state contract and funded through the Capital Projects Fund. This project was previously presented to the Board and is part of the five-year technology plan The Federal Programs Report is included with the agenda documents. No Board action will be required on this particular item. V. FINANCIAL BOARD RESOLUTIONS: I move to approve the resolutions (V.A.) through (V.E.) as hereinafter described. Vote will be by consent and/or roll call vote. 3

A. Ratification/Approval of Financial Reports - In conformity with provisions under the Public School Code and Series 700 of the Board Policy Manual, the Board at this time shall consider ratification/approval of current school district financial reports including the treasurer s report, all of which have been provided to the Board in advance of tonight s meeting and will be included in the official Minutes of this meeting. B. Ratification/Approval of Payment of Bills - At this time, the Board shall consider ratification/approval of all the bills paid from the school district s funds since the last regular meeting of the Board, as previously presented to the Board prior to tonight s meeting and will be included in the official Minutes of this meeting. C. Authorize the 2016-2017 budget transfers, as per Section 609 of the Pennsylvania School Code, which have been previously presented to the Board, and will be included in the official Minutes of this meeting. D. Adopt the following Tax Collection Committee Voting Delegate Appointment resolution: Background. Act 32 505(b) requires the governing bodies of school districts, townships, boroughs, and cities that impose an earned income tax to appoint one voting delegate and one or more alternate delegates to be their Tax Collection Committee (TCC) representatives. The purpose of this resolution is to appoint the required delegates. The appointed individuals have consented to appointment. RESOLVED, by the governing body of the Nazareth Area School District, that the following individuals are appointed as TCC delegates for the Nazareth Area School District: 1. Primary voting delegate: Business Administrator/Board Secretary 2. First alternate voting delegate: Assistant Business Administrator 3. Second alternate voting delegate: Accountant 4. If the primary voting delegate cannot be present for a TCC meeting, the first alternate voting delegate shall be the representative at the TCC meeting. If both the primary voting delegate and the first alternate voting delegate cannot be present for a TCC meeting, the second alternate voting delegate shall be the representative at the TCC meeting. 5. These appointments are effective immediately and shall continue until successors are appointed. Delegates shall be appointed each year in December or as soon thereafter as possible. All delegates shall serve at the pleasure of this governing body and may be removed at any time. 4

E. Adopt the following resolution regarding reimbursement from the proceeds of taxexempt bonds for previous capital expenditures: WHEREAS, the Nazareth Area School District, duly organized and validly existing under the Constitution and laws of the Commonwealth, (the "District") intends to begin various capital improvements to its facilities in the nature of improvements to the District s existing facilities (the "Project"); and WHEREAS, the District intends to permanently fund the Project through the issuance of tax-exempt general obligation bonds (the "Bonds"); and NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved by the Board of Directors of the Nazareth Area School District, in a public meeting duly advertised and assembled, that: The District intends to reimburse certain expenditures of General Fund monies for the Project with a portion of the proceeds of its Bonds. The District reasonably expects to issue Bonds in an estimated amount of $11.75 million to finance the entire Project. The approximate principal amount of obligations that the District expects to issue for the purpose of reimbursement is $500,000.00. This Resolution is being adopted pursuant to the "Official Intent" requirement of U.S. Treasury Regulation 1.150-2. Duly adopted by the Nazareth Area School District in lawful session assembled on this 12th day of December, 2016. VI. PERSONNEL BOARD RESOLUTIONS: I move to approve the resolutions (VI.A.) through (VI.G.) as hereinafter described. Vote will be by consent and/or roll call vote. A. Approve the addition of the following to the approved list of personnel to the appropriate substitute list: Substitute Teacher: Thomas Bold Pre-K-4, Grades 5-6, Business Ed K-12 B. Approve the following request/s for uncompensated leave from: 1. Currently, there are no request/s for uncompensated leaves of absences. 5

C. Approve the following request/s for leaves of absences from: 1. Employee FMLA 16/17-13, beginning September 26, 2016 through approximately December 12, 2016. 2. Employee FMLA 16/17-17, beginning approximately April 14, 2017, and returning for the start of the 2017-2018 school year. 3. Employee FMLA 16/17-18, beginning January 17, 2017 through approximately March 15, 2017. 4. Employee FMLA 16/17-19, beginning December 7, 2016 through approximately February 8, 2017. 5. Employee FMLA 16/17-20, beginning approximately April 23, 2016, and returning for the start of the 2017-2018 school year. 6. Sabbatical leave of absence for Donna Sabatie from November 28, 2016 through November 28, 2017. D. Approve the following resignations from: 1. Currently, no resignations have been received. E. Accept the following retirements for: 1. Currently, no retirements have been received. F. Approve the hiring/transfer/change of position for the following personnel: 1. Hire Nicholas Thornton as a replacement associate teacher/mental health worker, with an initial assignment at the Nazareth Area Intermediate School, beginning approximately December 19, 2016, and with other terms and conditions currently in effect between the Nazareth Area School District and the Support Personnel Association, and pending receipt of all required paperwork. It is understood that employment is provisional until all required paperwork is received, based on the requirements of the Public Employee Relations Act and the Pennsylvania Department of Education. G.
