October 2016 Hello fellow HOG members. Hope ya'll are doing well. September was a busy month. Air strip, 9/11, Eagle run, Dinner at Vince s and Shoot, Loot & Scoot. Plus, Bike Night at Quaid s. Props sent out to our member Terry for leading the chapter on the ride to 7 Oaks after the meeting. 8 bikes went. Cool. Don't forget Oct. 1st is our Vet Run. Lets show we care. Also Welcome to our 3 new members. I hope to put many miles under us together. Oct. 8th is El Cajon s HOG event. I would like to see a good amount of us going to it. It gives us a chance to see new areas and also to see how their events are. I know when I did Sweet Waters event the ride they did was Sweet ( no pun intended ). You never know till you try. Check our calendar, watch your E mails for future activities and events. Remember, Ride Safe, Be Safe.... Lawrence

October 2016 Well, it is already the 14th of October and I am finally getting the newsletter out. There were many things which held me up this month. Things I do not want to bore you with by trying to explain further. A friend encouraged me to enter my bike, a somewhat souped-up 01 Deuce with an 04 paint set, into the Eagle Run Bike Contest. I was reluctant, but entered and won First Place. There weren t a lot of bikes in the contest, but that s alright with me! I will still be here as Newsletter Editor, but have no idea if I will be moving to a different state or even a different country by the end of the upcoming year, so if anyone is interested in becoming Editor, I will fill you in on all the details and get you up to speed so that you can do at least as good a job as I have been doing. Although Editor is not an elected position, the Editor is treated like an officer and even gets to go to Las Vegas for the HOG Officers Training event. To call the event fun would be to highly underrate it! I even stayed an extra day after everyone else had gone home and rode up by Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam. This month I was supposed to publish an interview of the person in the picture (right), and I indeed sat down, turned on my recorder and had a wonderful talk with her for 20 or 30 minutes. I thought it had gone well and would be a very interesting read for you. Problem is, my recorder shut off after only a few minutes, well before we got into the most interesting parts of her story. My memory is shot and there is no way I could write the interview from memory, so we have to sit down again and do it over again. Look for it next month! I will try to get the newsletter out on time in the future. Saddle Up! Let s Ride! Greg Robertson Know who this is? Read her story in the November Freedom Flyer! (Hint: She works at Quaid Harley Davidson.)

Quaid Brothers Relaxing After the Ceremony

If it were not for LLHOG Officer Randy Kim and our friends, the Black Sheep, not much would happen at our/your HOG chapter. When you get a chance, thank them! They may not always be seen and don t live in the lime light, but they are there, organizing, working behind the scenes, making phone calls, flipping burgers, grilling onions, ordering supplies, calling or visiting accident victims, and making sure the ice hasn t melted, and the bucket still has drinks in it! THANK YOU! YOU ARE APPRECIATED!
