SPECIAL CALLED MEETING OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND SELECTMEN OF THE CITY OF WEST POINT, MISSISSIPPI JULY 1, 2013 2:30 P.M. The Oath of Office Ceremony was held at 10:30 a.m. July 1, 2013 upstairs at City Hall followed by the required appointments. The Oath of Office for Mayor and each Selectman were administrated by Circuit Judge Lee Howard Coleman.
Board of Mayor and Selectmen of the City of West Point, Mississippi held a Special Called Meeting the 1 st day of July 2013, at 2:30 p.m. at City Hall, 204 Commerce Street, West Point, Mississippi, called by Mayor Harmon A. Robinson that took his oath of office along with the incoming Board of Selectmen for 2013-2017, at 10:30 a.m. The Board was giving notice three hours prior to the special called meeting by emails and telephones calls. The notice was posted on the bulletin board at City Hall. The purpose of the meeting was for the Mayor and Board of Selectmen to make special appointments that was required by law on July 1, 2013. Those members present were Mayor Harmon A. Robinson, Selectman Linda Hannah, Selectman William Binder, Selectman Jimmy Clark, Selectman Keith McBrayer, Selectman Gary Dedeaux, City Attorney Orlando Rod Richmond, CAO Randy Jones. Mayor Harmon A. Robinson called the meeting to order and called upon Attorney Richmond to offer invocation and Mayor Robinson leaded the Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Robinson started with New Business with the specially required appointments. Selectman Keith McBrayer motioned that the Mayor and Board of Selectmen appoint Delores Doss as City Clerk. The motion received a second from Selectman Gary Dedeaux. Selectman William Binder voted Selectman Keith McBrayer voted Selectman Linda Hannah motioned that the Mayor and Board of Selectmen appoint Keith McBrayer as Mayor Pro Tem for one year. Selectman Gary Dedeaux motioned that the Mayor and Board of Selectman appoint Randy Jones as CAO. The motion was second by Selectman Linda Hannah. Selectman William Binder voted Selectman Keith McBrayer voted Selectman Linda Hannah motioned that the Mayor and Board of Selectman reappoint Orlando Rod Richmond, Sr. as City Attorney. The motion received a second from Selectman Keith McBrayer. Selectman William Binder voted Selectman Keith McBrayer voted Selectman William Binder motioned that the Mayor and Board of Selectman reappoint Bennie Jones as Municipal Judge. The motion received a second from Selectman Linda Hannah. Selectman Keith McBrayer suggested to add a second municipal judge to help expedite the case load. Selectman William Binder voted
Selectman Keith McBrayer voted Selectman Keith McBrayer motioned that the Mayor and Board of Selectman reappoint Paytreen Davidson as the City Municipal Prosecutor. The motion received a second from William Binder. Selectman William Binder voted Selectman Keith McBrayer voted Mayor Robinson appointed each Selectman to serve on five city committees. The Mayor appointed Selectmen Jimmy Clark and William Binder to serve on the Public Safety Committee; Selectmen Keith McBrayer and William Binder to serve on the Streets and Sanitation Committee; Selectmen Jimmy Clark and Linda Hannah to serve on the Recreation Department Committee; Selectmen Keith McBrayer and Gary Dedeaux to serve on the Finance Committee; Selectmen Linda Hannah and Gary Dedeaux to serve on the Public Utilities Committee. Mayor Robinson will serve along with the Board of Selectmen on all the City s Committees. Mayor Robinson stated that due to July 4, holiday on Thursday, the work session would be held Monday, July 8, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. Selectman Keith McBrayer made the motion to adjourn.
