IOM is dedicated promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice governments and migrants. Context: Working under the direct supervision of the Migration and Border Capability Improvement Program (MBCIP), Project Manager and in coordination with the IOM Vanuatu Officer in Charge (OIC) and under the oversight of the Chief of Mission for Australia and Coordinar/Advisor for the Pacific, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective and efficient support the implementation of the activities of the MBCIP. The main aim of the MCIBP is strengthen the capacities of border control officers ensure the efficiency of Vanuatu s border management system. Specifically, the MCIBP will strengthen the knowledge and skills of officers of the: Department of Cusms and Inland Revenue carry out their new functions at primary line border control in Vanuatu; and Vanuatu Immigration Service in passport examination procedures, through the training of trainer s methodology. Deliverables & Timelines: 1. Assist in implementing the capacity building activities, including preparation of training programmes, workshops and meetings, organized during the project implementation period and specifically, in July 2018 for the Document Examination training and between June and mid-august 2018 for the migration and border management trainings. 2. Assist in collecting and organizing migration and border management information from academic and governmental sources as well as international institutions for the preparation of training and other materials, as may be required by the project, between June and mid-august 2018, based on each training schedule, during the same period. 3. Assist in drafting reports and notes for files for trainings, meetings and project related activities, within two weeks of training delivery. 4. Assist in making the required logistical arrangements for capacity building activities of the project, at least one week ahead of training delivery. 5. Assist in liaison with government officials and other stakeholders strengthen coordination for effective project implementation. 6. Undertake all other duties as may be assigned. Required Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor s Degree in the social sciences field with at least two years of progressively responsible work experience Understanding of the pic of migration and border management Good level of skill in organization and planning or activities/events Familiarity with Vanuatu Government structures Responsiveness and punctuality Fluency in English, good writing and reporting skills Fluency in Bislama and knowledge of French an asset The deadline for submission of cover letters, gether with, the duly completed Consultant Information Form, is 19:00 Port Vila time on 8 June 2018.
