This knowledge can prevent food shortages and mass displacement. Photo by Ric Francis for CRS. NIGER A man waters crops in a dry-season garden in Niger. Our climate-smart agriculture programs teach farmers how to protect lands and crops during extreme weather, including droughts and storms. CRS helps communities build wells and storage facilities for their crops, and holds farm tool and seed fairs, which means people are less likely to be forced to migrate in search of food.
