COUNCIL BLUFFS COMMUNITY SCHOOLS BOARD MINUTES REGULAR MEETING April 12, 2016 6:30 P.M. 300 West Broadway, Suite 1600 Council Bluffs, Iowa Public Hearing: 2016-17 Budget An Open Meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by President Bill Grove to hold the Public Hearing on the 2016-17 Budget. Board Members present for the Hearing were: Troy Arthur, Chris LaFerla, Dave Coziahr, Jill Ogg-Gress, Susan Riley, Presentation was given by: Dean Wilson, Chief Financial Officer Public Hearing was adjourned at 6:37 p.m. 1. We are Proud of Our Schools/Introductions Student Recognition Members of the 2016 DECA, HOSA and All-State Speech Teams received Student Star Awards for their achievements at the state level competition. Thomas Jefferson High School members of the National Honor Society were presented a Family Inc. volunteerism award for assisting at the Dr. Seuss Literacy Night. Employee Recognition March Living the Mission Employee of the Month awards were given to Charlotte Moreland, Attendance Secretary at Thomas Jefferson High School, and Trent Hill, Physical Education Teacher at Roosevelt and Rue Elementary Schools. Substitute Teacher Rhonda Croson, was honored as the Substitute of the Trimester. 6. Approval of Agenda BE IT RESOLVED that the Agenda be approved as presented. Moved by: Jill Ogg-Gress

Informational Presentations Strategic Planning Reports Presentation was given by Dr. Martha Bruckner, Superintendent of Schools; Dr. Sandra Day, 21 st Century Grant Program Director; Janet Reiners, Chief Human Resources Officer; Diane Ostrowski, Chief Communications Officer; Dr. Corey Vorthmann, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching & Learning; and Dave Fringer, Chief Technology Officer Resolutions Approval of 2016-17 Budget BE IT RESOLVED the Board move to approve the 2016-2017 Budget as presented. line District out-of-pocket cost after 50% erate discount) Award of E-Rate Form 470 Bids Category 2E-Rate Eligible network hardware and wireless support with SmartWave Technologies BE IT RESOLVED the Board move to approve the bid for Category 2 E-Rate Eligible network hardware and wireless support with SmartWave Technologies at a cost of $99,355.
