Legislative Powers of the So Veto Power-To reject a bill or concurrent resolution passed by the legislature is a very powerful tool of the governor Line-item veto- allows governor to veto a pork-barrel (funding for pet projects to a legislator's district) (deals made with lawmakers) 40

Legislative Powers of the Special Sessions Power No restriction on the number of special sessions a governor may call (call several back to back) Length is limited to 30 days Legislature considers only those matters the governor specifies( exceptions: confirmation of appointments or impeachments) 41
