WHAT DO I NEED TO APPLY FOR MY RUSSIAN TOURIST VISA? A valid national passport with at least two unused pages. The passport must be valid for at least six months after the date of your departure from Russia. Completed visa application form (typed version). One recent color passport-sized photo taken against white background and printed on standard photographic paper with your name written on the reverse side. A standard tourist acceptance confirmation issued by hosting Russian travel agency or hotel registered with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a tourist voucher from your travel agency (or hotel). The voucher must contain the applicant s name, passport number, dates and ports of arrival and departure in and from Russia, cities to be visited, agency s reference or registration number. Please note that the hotel booking is not sufficient for visa application.* If Tour Group or Cruise Passenger: Letter from tour company or cruise line confirming itinerary and including a copy of the confirmation from authorized Russian travel company which shows the reference number and confirmation number for the visa. EU passport holders must submit utility bill/driving license OR employment letter (an official, original and signed letter from your employer printed on the company headed paper with name/ title/ position of employee, commencement date, date of issue, address, telephone number. The letter should not be older than 2 weeks). Non-EU passport holders must submit a copy of GNIB card AND utility bill/driving license OR company letter (an official, original and signed letter from your employer printed on the company headed paper with name/ title/ position of employee, commencement date, date of issue, address, telephone number. The letter should not be older than 2 weeks). For UK and US passports holders only: we need 2 signed application forms* with 2 photos. ( * the typed version of the application form). A copy of your travel/health insurance certificate showing: name of policy, policy number and expiry date. ** * Visa First can organise business invitations for you. Once Visa First receives your completed application form and support documents we will then email you with a typed version of your application form as verified by the Russian Embassy. All you need to do is print out the form from the email, sign it and post it back to us. As soon as we receive your signed application form in the post we will be able to submit your application to the Russian Consulate. **Visa First can organise travel insurance for you. To process your travel insurance we will need a copy of your passport AND your travel dates. NOTE: The embassy no longer accepts applications completed by hand, only applications completed online are accepted. Please scan and email the completed application form to russia@visafirst.com and we will email you back the completed online application form. What is the validity period of the Russian Tourist visa? 2
Can I apply for a double entry visa? A double entry tourist may only be granted if a foreign national is traveling to a neighbouring country from Russia. The applicant must then be travelling back into Russia from the neighbouring country, and then from Russia onto the third country. Therefore, a double entry tourist visa cannot be issued for two separate trips when travelling from national s home country. The period of validity granted for a double entry visa cannot be extended beyond 30 days. How much time do I have to activate the visa from the date of issue? The visa must be activated within six (6) months from the date of issue. According to Russian law, all Russian Visas should be registered within 7 working days, upon arrival to the Russian Federation (excluding weekends and official holidays). No registration is required if the visit is only for two or three days. If you are staying at a hotel: the hotel will register the visa. You will be asked to show your visa and passport. A small registration fee may apply. If you are not staying at a hotel: you will have to register the visa at the passport and visa department of the local police station. If your final destination is not Moscow or St. Petersburg and you are not staying at a hotel: you will need to register the visa with a local UVIR (Russian Department of Visas and Registration).
