The meeting will have an interactive survey, raffle prizes, and updates from the Council Members on various projects occurring throughout the Districts. Citywide Garage Sale and Spring Cleaning Event (flyer attached) Saturday, May 19 Garage Sale: 8:00 AM-3:00 PM, Citywide locations ACI Drop-off: 10:00 AM-3:00 PM, 2307 Blanding Ave., Suite B, Alameda Residents are invited to participate in the Citywide Garage Sale. Consistent with prior years, the City will print a map and listing of participating addresses in the May 17 edition of the San Leandro Times. From 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, residents may also drop off appliances, mattresses, electronics, scrap metal, clean wood, tires, household batteries and fluorescent lamps at Alameda County Industries (ACI). Memorial Day Weekend Programming May 26, 2:00-4:30 PM, Main Library, 300 Estudillo Ave. This Memorial Day weekend the Veterans Resource Center of the Main Library is partnering with the San Leandro Historical Society to present a program on the Battle of Iwo Jima and the ongoing impact of the battle s iconic photograph, Flag Raising On Iwo Jima. Council Information San Leandro Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan 2018 Selected for Award (memo attached) The San Leandro Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan 2018 Update has been selected for a 2018 Award of Merit in the category of Public Outreach by the American Planning Association - California Chapter, Northern Section. The award will be formally presented at the Northern Section Awards Gala on Friday, June 1, which will take place at the War Memorial Performing Arts Center in San Francisco's Civic Center district. Neighborhood Cleanup Day Saturday, May 19, 2018 Pull your old, unused items out of the attic and basement in preparation for San Leandro s Citywide Garage Sale and Spring Cleaning Event. A program designed to keep your neighborhood clean and green! Available to all San Leandro residents. The event includes: Citywide Garage Sale - 8:00 am 1:00 pm Host a garage sale at your home. The City will provide free advertising including a map and listing in the May 17 edition of the San Leandro Times. Neighborhood Cleanup - 10:00 am 3:00 pm Bring electronics, clean wood/yard trimmings, scrap metal, appliances, mattresses, household batteries, tires, fluorescent lights, cell phones, chargers, CDs, DVDs and audio and video tapes to a local facility for recycling. Residents that sign up will receive garage sale information and/or a postcard invitation to access the recycling event at least one week prior to the event.
