Indicate which question you have answered by writing its number in the space provided. All questions in this section are worth 20 marks. Questions Question 1 Institutions of global governance face far too many obstacles to play an effective role on the global stage. Discuss. Question 2 Hard power is entirely limiting for a state s ability to achieve national interest objectives. Do you agree? One of the following five states must be the focus for responses: Australia, China, Indonesia, Japan or United States of America. OR OR Question 3 Evaluate the power of the international community to address global ethical issues in the 21st century. One of the following issues must be used: human rights, people movement, development focusing on poverty and inequality, arms control and disarmament. OR Question 4 Whilst the causes of global crises may be easy to identify, effective resolutions are harder to find. Discuss with reference to one global crisis. One of the following global crisis must be used: environmental degradation, intra and interstate conflict, state and non-state terrorism, economic instability.
