Comments from Community Survey Fine arts and Athletics can t go, if it does, MANY will leave the district and therefore we will be in even more of a need to reduce! Same goes for teacher/staff salaries Teachers/staff should at least bear/pay 5-10% of the insurance cost as the rest of the other industry employees. Realistic 1 student. What about site average? Are we (JO Combs) offering a valued/equal education as students are receiving in other districts? Staff should pay for part of insurance. Athletics, if removed from MS, can they have an outside option/s.

Comments from Community Survey How will classes at individual sites that far surpass district averages be handled? Will there be a site average adhered to? Keep the fine programs that keep some of us here? i.e., BAND, BAND, BAND Award winning. District adjustment slide should include transfer of salaries to community ed. Please make presentation available online to share & provide online version of voting above. As a parent of 2 students in the Band program (one in elementary & one in High School) I feel it is absolutely imperative to continue to fund the Arts program!

Q&A FROM STAFF SURVEY Eliminate Reading and Math Coaches Academic Coaches are paid from Title I dollars that do not impact the M&O budget. These dollars cannot be used to reduce the deficit. Write and get more grants, especially Title I Title I funds are based on the number of students who qualify for free or reduced lunches. Make CTA a school-within-a school and combine with Ranch Combining any two schools would create a deficit of classroom space and not allow for the anticipated growth from areas such as Ironwood Crossing or Pima Crossing housing development. Combining CTA and Ranch would create a school size of over 850.

Q&A FROM STAFF SURVEY Why was there a specific question on reducing support staff and no other employee group? This question used the specific language from the override ballot. Override dollars are used to hire support staff. I would like to see more fees..special Education fees. In the federal law of IDEA it states that parents of students with disability have the same education afforded to them as non-disabled students-fape. I think that some positions at the district level need to be considered for reduction. Since 2011 the following district positions have been reduced: textbook clerk, part-time custodian, human resource specialist, and technology specialist

Q&A FROM STAFF SURVEY Will these reductions affect administration? YES-Any adjustments in salary, furloughs or benefits will impact administrators as well this includes superintendency. Find a way to make Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) voluntary or reduce the percentage. The Arizona State Retirement System, created in 1953, is a state agency providing retirement benefits, long-term disability benefits and other benefits to employees of the state, counties, municipalities, universities, community colleges, school districts and other political entities. It is mandated under A.R.S. 38-711 We have gone without raises for a few years. Combs employees received a loyalty stipend in 2011, a tiered loyalty stipend in 2012 and a tiered raise in 2013 *92 comments from staff
