State Budget Priorities 2017 Health4Young Adults Expands Medi-Cal for Undocumented Young Adults up to the age of 26 One California Budget Ask Immigration/citizenship services Deportation relief/ Deportation defense legal representation/training

The Current State of Federal Health Law The Senate Released the Better Care Reconciliation Act on 6/22 CBO score released shows 22 million Americans will lose coverage Ends the Medicaid Expansion eliminating coverage for more than 3.7 million CA adults (2.3 POC) Cuts Medicaid by $772 billion (as much as $24 billion in California) putting coverage at risk for 14 million Californians in the program. These spending cuts to grow to more than $2 trillion by 2036, according to a newly released study by the AARP. Excludes some lawfully present immigrants from continuing to receive Affordable Care Act tax credits or being able to enroll in a health plan in our state marketplace Reduces premium subsidies for moderate-income families and increases premiums for the near-elderly; Currently, 90% of the 1.5 million Californians enrolled in Covered California get financial assistance based on their income to help them afford coverage. Discriminates against people with pre-existing conditions Defunds Planned Parenthood. California s Planned Parenthood affiliates provide basic health care services for up to 850,000 lowincome Californians a year. Removes Essential Health Benefits
