ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS FIRST READING: (a) An ordinance authorizing and directing the Safety Service Director to solicit bids for pavement upgrade of North Lake Street from the South side of the Route 2 interchange to the South side of Milan Avenue, the total project cost not to exceed $425,000.00; authorizing and directing the Safety Service Director to award the contract for such improvement to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder; and declaring an emergency. Agenda Page 2 (b) An Ordinance authorizing and directing the Safety Service Director to solicit bids for improvements to the intersection of Milan Avenue and North Lake Street in accordance with option 1 proposed by R. E. Warner and Associates, Inc., the total project cost not to exceed $330,660; authorizing and directing the Safety Service Director to award the contract for such improvement to the lowest responsible and responsible bidder; and declaring an emergency. (A-02-135) (c) An Ordinance authorizing change orders #2 and #3 to the contract with J. L. Reichert, Inc., adding an additional $1,705.000 to the contract price. (A-02-136) (d) An Ordinance authorizing the City to retain Brunkhorst Engineering Consultants, Inc. to render engineering services for the replacement of the sanitary sewer on Franklin Street between East Street and Church Street as a cost for such engineering services not to exceed $7,700.000; and declaring an emergency. (A-02-137) (e) A Resolution authorizing the Safety-Service Director of the City to file an application and enter into an agreement with the Lorain County Board of Commissioners through the Lorain County Solid Waste Management District for the purpose of acquiring funds through the Recycling and Composting Grant Program pursuant to the Lorain County Solid Waste Plan. (A-02-139) (f) An Ordinance amending Section 191.03, 191.11 and 191.12 of Amherst s Codified Ordinances to impose taxes on gains of a business, profession or enterprise, to tax a resident s share of the net profits of S Corporations, to increase the penalties for late filing of Income Tax Returns, and to increase the dollar minimum for collections and refunds of Income Taxes. (A-02-140) (g) An Ordinance amending the investments policy of the City of Amherst. (A-02-141) (h) An Ordinance amending Sections 137.04 of Amherst s Codified Ordinances to increase the charge for dishonored checks. (A-02-142) (i) An Ordinance repealing Sections 1501.01, 1501.02, 1501.03, 1501.04, 1051.05, 1501.06. 1501.07, 1501.08, 1501.09, and 1501.99 of Amherst s Codified Ordinances, pertaining to the 1992 Edition of the Ohio Fire Code; and enacting new Section 1501.01 of Amherst s Codified Ordinances to provide for the adoption of the 2000 edition of the Ohio Fire Code and to provide for the automatic adoption of all future amendments to the Ohio Fire Code.
