Vice Mayor Rose Herrera opened the floor for public testimony. Public Comments: Dave Truslow (Citizens for Fiscal Responsibility), Richard Zappelli, Nancy Pyle, Gail Osmer and Ed Rast offered opinions on the event, including criticism of using public funding for public forums and potential scheduling conflict with National Night Out. Assistant City Attorney Ed Moran offered clarification, indicating that such forums cannot be used for political purposes but may be used for providing impartial information to residents. Council Member Pierluigi Oliverio spoke in support of the use of forums and the positive feedback that has been provided in the past from residents. Committee discussion followed. Action: Upon motion by Councilmember Johnny Khamis, seconded by Councilmember Magdalena Carrasco, and carried unanimously, the Committee END OF CONSENT CALENDAR - 4 - July 27, 2016

(City Manager) Accept the semi-annual report on posting of public calendars by City officials on the City s web site. (Mayor) Forward for approval at the City Council hearing on August 9, 2016, the creation of an Ad-Hoc Committee on Development Services and setting the dates for the meetings to be held in the City Manager s Conference Room.
