Candidate Statement Form June 5, 2018 Municipal Election Name of Candidate: Rick Jennings Office Sought: District 7 Age (optional): 65 Occupation: Non-profit Director/Councilmember I do not wish to submit a candidate statement. Signature: Date: Candidate Statement (200 word limit): As I complete my first Council term, I am proud of our accomplishments, motivated by the challenges, and grateful for the opportunity to serve you. Now, I come to you again, humbly and respectfully, seeking another term to finish the important work we ve started. My life is about service. I ran for office to build upon my years of doing work in the community that created change and opportunity. After college and pro football, I rose to management in a Fortune 500 company. However, success was not a substitute for service, so I left. For over 25 years, I have helped thousands of kids through the Center for Fathers and Families and as SCUSD Board Trustee. As your Councilmember, we have increased public safety, making our district the safest in the City. We have recruited new businesses and created jobs, advanced the Sacramento River Parkway Bike Trail, revitalized parks and infrastructure, and tackled homelessness. We have increased community events allowing neighbors to come together. I m honored to have endorsements from Mayor Darrell Steinberg, Sacramento Police Officers Association, Sacramento Building and Construction Trades Council, and hundreds of local residents and leaders. I would be honored to have your vote. Please select all that apply: 915 I Street Sacramento, CA 95814 (916) 808-7200 clerk@cityofsacramento.org CCO-024 Rev. 02/12/2018
