ABOUT THE FALL CONFERENCE The Fall Conference for Court Reporters will be conducted by the Mississippi Judicial College at the Jackson Marriott, 200 East Amite St., Jackson, Mississippi on October 27-28, 2016. The program content was developed by the Continuing Education Committee of the Mississippi Court Reporters Association working in conjunction with the Mississippi Judicial College. REGISTRATION: Registration for the fall conference will commence at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2016, on the mezzanine of the Jackson Marriott. The conference registration desk will remain open for the duration of the conference and a representative of the Mississippi Judicial College will be in attendance at all times. The first session will begin at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2016. REGISTRATION FEE: MCRA Members............................................................................ $40.00 Mississippi scopists & students MCRA Members.................................................. $30.00 Out of State MCRA Members................................................................. $65.00 Non MCRA Members (including scopists & students).............................................. $125.00 Please make all checks payable to the University of Mississippi/MJC. A check or money order must be tendered for registration fees. No cash will be accepted at registration. There is no fee for Mississippi Official Court Reporters. LODGING: Hotel room rates are $89.00, single or double. You must call the hotel and make your own reservations. Please call the Jackson Marriott at 1-800-256-9194 or 1-601-969-5100 and identify yourself as attending the Mississippi Judicial College Court Reporter program, (Code: MCRMCRA), to receive the conference rate. Cutoff date for the rooms is September 26, 2016. Reservations made after this date will be made on a space available basis at the best available rate. TRAVEL: Mississippi Official Court Reporters residing 30 miles from the site will be reimbursed for travel to and from the conference at.54 cents per mile and for meals at the MJC rate. Mississippi Official Court Reporters will have their rooms placed on the master bill of the Mississippi Judicial College for the night of Thursday, October 27, 2016, for those residing 30 miles from the site. All Court Reporters must make their own reservations. The MJC Board of Governors has adopted a 100% attendance policy at all seminars and Mississippi Official Court Reporters will be required to attend 100% of the program to be reimbursed for mileage, meals, and lodging. CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT: Request has been made to the Board of the Academy of Professional Reporters for approval of this October 27-28, 2016 conference for.6 CEUs. The application will be considered under the "Continuing Education and Professional Development Guidelines". The Mississippi CSR Board has approved this conference for 12 continuing education credits.

MAKING YOUR RESERVATIONS Hotel room rates are $89.00 single/double rate. Reservations for this event may be made by calling Marriott reservations at 1-800-256-9194 or 1-601-969-5100 and informing the reservationist that you are attending the Conference for Court Reporters sponsored by the Mississippi Judicial College, (Code: MCRMCRA). MJC cannot reimburse for parking expenses. The hotel is holding a limited block of rooms for this conference until September 26, 2016. Melinda will also discuss what it is like to report special events that occur on the floor of the House, such as the State of the Union address, the Electoral College, and addresses by foreign dignitaries to a joint session of Congress. 2:00-2:15 p.m. BREAK Melinda M.
