DEPARTMENT OF AMBEDKAR THOUGHT Choice Base Credit System (CBCS) Syllabus for M.A. Ambedkar Thought Semester and Credit Pattern: Session 2016-17 General Information: 1. Semesters 1 and 2 will be for M.A. Part 1 and Semesters 3 and 4 will be for M.A. Part II. 2. There shall be minimum 15 weeks in each Semester. 3. There will be 4 Papers for each Semester. First two papers will be compulsory in each semester and third and forth papers will be optional. There will be two groups each, candidate can select one group. 4. There will be 100 marks in each paper, out of which 80 marks will be for University Examination and 20 marks will be for Internal Assessment. 5. In the internal Assessment of 20 marks, there will be assignment. 6. There will be 4 credits in each paper for University Examination and one credit course of the any will be of one clock hour per week running for 15 weeks. 7. For each paper the passing marks will be out of 100 in University Examination and in Internal Assessment. 8. There shall be combined minium passing marks in the each subject/paper i.e. marks out of 100. In other words there shall not be separate minium passing marks for theory (external) examination and internal assestment componants of the subject /paper.provided the student must appear for the internal assestment in the subject/ paper. 9. The students will be allotted a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) after clearing all the 4 Semesters as indicated below. Obtained out of 100 CGPA Grades Equivalent Class/ Division 90-100 9.00-10.00 O First Class (Outstanding) 80-89 8.00-8.99 A First Class (Excellent) 70-79 7.00-7.99 B First Class with Distinction 60-69 6.00-6.99 C First Class 55-59 5.50-5.99 D Higher Second Class 50-54 5.00-5.49 E Second Class -49 4.00-4.99 F Below Fail 2
