See also the note under Russian Federation. The Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia had signed and ratified the Convention on 15 July 1980 and 14 May 1986, respectively. The Czechoslovak Socialist Republic had signed and ratified the convention on 14 September 1981 and 23 April 1982, respectively. A reservation concerning Article 17, para. 2, of the Convention, which had been made upon signature and confirmed upon ratification, had been withdrawn on 6 June 1991 by the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic. The instrument of ratification specifies that the Convention "will not apply to the Faroe Islands." The Convention was signed and ratified by the Federal Republic of Germany. The German Democratic Republic had also signed and ratified the Convention on 22 May 1980 and 5 February 1981, respectively, with a reservation concerning Article 17, para. 2. On 9 October 1990, the Federal Republic of Germany notified the Depositary inter alia that, following the "" of the German Democratic Republic to the Federal Republic of Germany with effect from 3 October 1990, the international treaties and agreements to which the Federal Republic of Germany was a contracting party would also apply to the territory of the former German Democratic Republic. The Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia had signed and ratified the Convention on 15 July 1980 and 14 May 1986, respectively. The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) had notified the Depositary of its succession to the Convention with effect from 27 April 1992. See also the note under Serbia. The instrument of acceptance specified that ratification was "for the Kingdom in Europe". On 2 December 2005, the Netherlands notified the Depositary that it also accepted the Convention for Aruba. The instrument of contains a declaration that "shall not extend to Tokelau." Page 5 of 6

9 10 11 The Convention was signed and ratified by the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR). On 26 December 1991 the Russian Federation notified the Depositary that the participation of the USSR "in all conventions, agreements and international legal instruments, which were concluded within the Agency's framework or under its aegis is continued by the Russian Federation." The Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY) had signed and ratified the Convention on 15 July 1980 and 14 May 1986, respectively. On 28 April 1992 the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) notified the Depositary inter alia that it intended to "continue to fulfil all the rights conferred and obligations assumed by the SFRY in international relations, including participation in international treaties ratified or acceded to by Yugoslavia." Subsequently, on 5 February 2002 the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia deposited a notification of succession to the Convention, with effect from 27 April 1992. On 2 July 2006 the Republic of Serbia notified the Depositary that it intended "to continue to exercise its rights and honour its commitments deriving from international treaties concluded by Serbia and Montenegro." On 11 December 1991 the United Kingdom notified the Depositary that "the Convention was extended to cover the Bailiwicks of Jersey and Guernsey and the Isle of Man with effect from 6 October 1991."
