LOCATION: England had outposts all over the world, ideal for controlling trade. CLIMATE: They had a great climate to BUSINESS and COMMERCE. They knew how to WIN and picked the winning team most of the time. French and Indian War the British won a decisive battle against the French. EXPANDED their territory with England, Scotland and Wales becoming United in 1707.

EXPANDED their territory with England, Scotland and Wales becoming United in 1707.

A string of 13 prosperous colonies existed in America. The northern colonies focused on INDUSTRY and the SOUTH focused on PLANTATIONS and FARMING. *Britain tried to REGULATE the colonial trade and manufacturing. Britain also tried to strengthen its own ECONOMY by exporting more than it imported. In what ways were the colonies already developing independence from Britain? *The COLONIES were PROSPEROUS, and lacked enforcement of LAWS.

Britain also tried to strengthen its own ECONOMY by exporting more than it imported.
