The regular meeting of the Brawley Union High School District Board of Education was called to order by Vice President Fernandez at 3:00 p.m. for Open Session on Wednesday, June 29, 2016. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Was led by Esther Banda. 3. The following members were present for roll call: Trustee Fernandez, Trustee Garcia, and Trustee Wilson. Trustee Contreras and Trustee Sassie Others Present: Superintendent Simon Canalez, Jesse Sanchez, Tony Munguia, Greg Smith and Jennifer Layaye. 4. ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA the following vote to adopt the agenda as presented. Trustee Fernandez, Trustee Garcia, and Trustee Wilson Trustee Sassie and Trustee Contreras BOARD COMMENTS Vice-President Fernandez welcomed everyone in attendance. REPORTS & PRESENTATIONS 1. Facilities Update Superintendent Canalez reported on the water break in the Science building. He stated that there is substantial damage to the classrooms and storage room and that future repairs need to be done. 1

PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS Principal Sanchez thanked the Board of Trustees for the continuous and committed support throughout the school year. Esther Sanchez-Banda thanked the Board, Mr. Canalez and Jennifer Layaye on behalf of the CSEA for all their support and dedication to the students and staff. She reported a good working relationship. Superintendent Canalez introduced Mr. Gregory Smith as the new Assistant Principal.
