It s Time For Some Since 1978, the voice of the Imperial R/C Club www.imperialrcclub.com OCTOBER 2016 A PLANE VIEW By Mike Zellars President Hello fellow members and welcome to Fall! For those that have been at field recently, you probably noticed a little relief in the heat index. I for one welcome it! At this month s meeting, we held nominations for the 2017 officers. This year, we actually have two members running for same position! It is always good when members are seeking to help out the club. Whether it is volunteering at an event, helping someone to learn to fly or becoming part of the executive committee, it is what makes this club great. With that said the official nominations are: Me President David Dewitt VP Dan Hudson Treasurer Ian Clark Secretary Nominated For Director (3 year term) Terry Baker Mike Vascellaro Per the IRCC by-laws, a ballot may be cast via postal mail or at the November meeting in person. Any mail in ballots must be received at the Post office box address prior to meeting so in this case that would be Nov 4th, 2016. In this newsletter is an official ballot along with the address to send it to. Of course, we much rather have you come to meeting but if you can t please make sure your ballot reaches the PO box by Nov 4 rd. Counting of ballots will take place at the meeting! In other news, I am happy to report that my 1/3 Stearman PT-17 has been completed and test flown! It did great and will be making an appearance at the 12oclock high event and of course our Golden Age of Flight event in November! A motion was made and passed to accept the September minutes as posted in the club newsletter, PROPWASH. Visitors and New Members: There were three new members during the month of September. We had $480.00 in income and $1800.00 in expenses during September. We are $x,xxx.xx ahead of what we had at this time last year. Membership Report: So far we have 137 members. Gary also reminded us that new members and those who have been out of the club for over a year may join for $100.00. This is a one-time deal. Field Maintenance Report: Mark Durkac reported that all is well at this time. The field mowing is being done by Jim Giallombardo and Gary Snyder. Newsletter Report: David Raff said he welcomes any and all articles members would like to send him. New Business: Because there seems to be a growing issue of guests flying without their sponsoring member being present, our policy pertaining to this was discussed. The following motions were made and passed: 1) Guests may only fly two times a year. This was changed from 5 times. 2) The extra fee of $50.00 per year for a turbine waiver was dropped.
