Ibrayeva Aigerim, PhD student of Eurasian National University L.N. Gumilyov, Astana, Kazakhstan. I have started my scientific internship from September 1, 2015 at the Department Political and Social Science, Center for East-Central and Balkan Europe, University of Bologna, Forlì Campus. Scientific training covers 6 months, from September 1, 2015 - until 29, February 2016. The name of my thesis Central Asia in the policy of the European Union: new trends, priorities and prospects. During this four months period, I have been gathered a lot of material for my research thematic. Firstly, September was difficult, because it was the beginning of my Erasmus and I had to get used to the Italian educational system. Especially the library, this huge place gather a lot of information, not only online library but also books, journal. All those tools were useful in order to get acquainted with the theorethical part of my research. The content of the thesis is the cooperation, priorities and perspectives between the EU and Central Asian countries. The aim of this research is to identify the factors, the characteristics and features of the evolution of European Union policy in Central Asia. Analyze the priorities of EU policies and identify further EU strategies towards CA from 1991 to the present day. The purpose of this study is to : - Analyze the EU strategy towards Central Asia and its approach to the region; - Identify the place of Central Asia in the EU system of external interests ; - Diagnose the features of Central Asian policy and the degree of consistency with the interests and objectives of a common EU policy in the region; - Definition of the content, dynamics and results of the development and prospects of EU relations with Central Asian countries in the field of security, political, economic and humanitarian sector. Erasmus internship in the political science department at the University of Bologna has given me the opportunity to get rewarding experience. Being here in Europe, and getting to understand the legislation of EU countries, helped me to compare the differences between the EU and CA policies. I have attended Stefano Bianchini s courses, he has been consulted on all matters which are related to my scientific work. Also, I have been attending additional subjects related to international relations, those courses were really helpful and are also suitable for my scientific career.

Also, I have been attended meetings of the North Atlantic Council (NAC) at the level of Defence Ministers which is held at NATO Headquarters on Wednesday 10 th and Thursday 11 th February 2016.
