STATEMENT OF PROBABLE CAUSE The Complainant states that the following facts establish probable cause: Your Complainant and/or Signing Officer designated below, being duly sworn, has reviewed police reports relating to the above-named Defendant and the allegations contained herein, and/or has spoken with peace officers having knowledge of the incident, and based upon that information, believes the following to be true and correct. On May 6, 2015, agents from the Cannon River Drug & Violent Offender Task Force, prepared to execute a no-knock search warrant at 1230 2nd Avenue NW, Faribault, Minnesota in Rice County. The warrant included all people at the residence and the vehicle with the license Minnesota license plate 715BHM. As agents were preparing to execute the warrant, they noticed a male and a young girl exit the residence and drive away in the vehicle with Minnesota license plate 715BHM. A traffic stop was done of the vehicle. The driver was identified as GORDON JAMES BOKMAN (date of birth, 12/17/1982, Defendant G. Bokman), During a search of Defendant G. Bokman, Agent Malecha found a glass pipe with white residue inside. (The pipe later field-tested positive for methamphetamine.) Agent Malecha also found a container with several small plastic bags with what appeared to be marijuana and methamphetamine. A small Ziploc bag with green leafy substance tested positive for marijuana, and weighed.85 grams without packaging. Another small Ziploc baggie with crystal chunks inside field-tested positive for methamphetamine, and weighed.74 grams. Defendant G. Bokman told Agent Malecha, you got it all. Shortly after the traffic stop, the search warrant was executed on the residence at 1230 2nd Avenue NW. Inside, law enforcement found a male identified as JAMES GORDON BOKMAN (date of birth, 05/06/1958, Defendant J. Bokman). Defendant J. Bokman said that he was there to pick up his granddaughter. Defendant J. Bokman also admitted that he had a glass pipe on his person, but that it belonged to his son. (The pipe later field-tested positive for methamphetamine.) During a search of the residence, law enforcement found: * Television monitor with surveillance camera angles; * Cameras mounted at various positions around the residence; * Two digital scales, dining room; * Next to the monitor and one of the digital scales, a box containing numerous plastic baggies and containers with suspected methamphetamine residue, dining room; * Documents with Defendant G. Bokman s name found near the monitor, and in the attic bedroom; * A bedroom containing a young girl s clothing and children s toys; * Plastic containers (with suspected marijuana and methamphetamine residue), plastic baggies, glass pipe (with residue), and black torch, attic bedroom; * 18 white pills in a plastic baggie in a safe, attic bedroom; and * 15 orange pills in a safe, attic bedroom. During a search of the NW bedroom of the residence, law enforcement found a black digital scale with white residue. (The residue later field-tested positive for methamphetamine.) Approximately seven feet away from the scale were numerous documents with the name JESSICA ANN SCHAAF (date of birth 09/24/1992, Defendant Schaaf). The documents were located in a purse on the ground next to a bed. There were other documents with Defendant Schaaf s name on the floor next to women s clothing. In the 3

same bedroom, there were also empty needles inside a Mountain Dew can on top of the dresser. There was also a letter in the kitchen addressed to Jessica Schaaf at 1230 2nd Avenue NW, Faribault, MN. Bokman has the following prior controlled substance crime sentence: On August 3, 2012, the defendant was given a Stay of Adjudication for a charge of Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree in Rice County District Court File No. 66-CR-12-306.
