Mass Plantation Program by ENVIS Centre under Haritha Haram Program About Haritha Haram Program The Hon ble Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has launched the Haritha Haram program. Chief Minister has directed the official to plant over 40 crore saplings under Haritha Haram programme in the State as soon as the rains begin. He said that Haritham Siva Sundaram should be the motto of the programme. Directed that Haritha Haram should be carried out over the next four years with the motto to increase the forest cover in the State from 24 per cent to about 33 per cent. In this connection, ENVIS Centre has conducted Mass plantation programme as part of Haritha Haram at different organization, schools, IT sector, etc. ENVIS team so far has planted 16100 saplings. Kalyan Chakraborathy, IAS, Director General of EPTRI has launched the program at EPTRI premises on 28 th July, 2016. Dr. M. Suneela, ENVIS Coordinator has organized the Haritha Haram Program at EPTRI campus. A total of 1000 saplings were planted by the staff of EPTRI. Each employee of EPTRI was given the responsibility of planting a minimum of 20 saplings at EPTRI premises as well as taking care of the planted saplings until they reach the self survival state for a minimum period of five years.
