Notes:. This Convention entered into force on 7 December 975. It subsequently entered into force for each State three months after the date of deposit of that State's instrument, except in cases of declarations of succession (indicated by the letter (S)), where the entry into force occurred on the date on which the State assumed responsibility for conducting its international relations. 2. Through the accession of the German to the Basic Law of the Federal of Germany, with effect from 3 October 990, the two German States have united to form one Sovereign State. The Contracting Parties to the Unification Treaty "have agreed that the treaties and agreements to which the Federal of Germany is a contracting party... remain in force and that their respective rights and obligations... be applied" to the whole territory of Germany. The German acceeded to this Convention on 2 December 988. 3. With an extension to the Netherlands Antilles. 4. The instrument of ratification was deposited by the U.S.S.R., on 2 October 988. 5. The unification of the Yemen Arab and the People's of Yemen into a single Sovereign State, the of Yemen, was proclaimed on 22 May 990. 6. As from 4 February 2003. Formerly: "The Federal of Yugoslavia" until 3 February 2003.The Federal of Yugoslavia deposited on September 200 a notification of succession of States and undertakes "faithfully to perform and carry out the stipulations therein contained [in the World Heritage Convention] as from 27, April 992, the date upon which the Federal of Yugoslavia assumed responsibility for its international relations."
