RESEARCH PROJECTS (selected) STYLE EU Seventh Framework Project, on Youth Unemployment in Europe 2014-2016. Leading a comparative study of job insecurity, unemployment and well-being among young people. Research Programme on Health, Safety and Well-being at Work: (2013-2016). Principal Investigator. Two year research programme funded by the Health and Safety Authority Research Programme on Poverty and Social Exclusion three year programme of research (2013-2015) funded by DSP, investigating issues such as household financial stress and household joblessness. Gender and the quality of work: from boom to recession (2013-2014) principle investigator. Cofunded by the Equality Authority and the European Union through PROGRESS. Research Programme on Equality and Discrimination (2005-2010) joint programme co-ordinator for a multi annual research programme funded by the Equality Authority, managing a team of fourteen researchers, which resulted in seven peer reviewed research studies and an edited book Making Equality Count (2010). National study of pregnancy related discrimination in the workplace (2009-2011). Principal Investigator. Funded by the Crisis Pregnancy Agency. The study included a nationally representative survey of 5,000 women with children under two years of age, a literature review, and a review of pregnancy discrimination cases in Ireland since the introduction of the 1998 Equality Legislation.
