BACKGROUND: The Snohomish County Parks and Recreation Department currently has the authority to allow opening or consumption of alcoholic beverages on the premises of the Evergreen Fairgrounds and at Willis Tucker Community Park by SCC 10.06.030, last amended by Ordinance 06-078 on October 11, 2016. The parks department desires to expand the ability to allow opening or consumption of alcoholic beverages to other property under the custodianship of the department; as designated by the director of parks and recreation. The amendment to to sec Code 10.06 030 would allow the parks director only to permit the opening and consumption of alcoholic beverages at specific parks at specific dates, times and events while following the Washington State's Liquor Control Boards requirements for a special occasion license or a banquet permit.
